The pay range is $98,000.00 - $176,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As a Senior Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product. You help develop and gain insight in the application architecture. You can distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation. You show expertise in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. You are an expert in programming and apply your skills in developing the product. You have the skills to design and implement the architecture on your own, but choose to influence your fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation. You show good problem solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences. About this Team: The Tile team maintains a collaborative editing tool that enables designers and merchants within Target to design and develop new product for Target. Our goal is to ensure that product design and ideation is connected to Target’s product development ecosystem. This enables us to reduce toil for our designers by obviating labor intensive and error-prone manual data copying and reconciliation. As our product grows, we will be working on a combination of usability/quality-of-life features to ensure that our users have a best-in-class editing tool, as well as opinionated workflows to enable users to bring their designs to life within Target. Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals. As a Sr. Engineer, you’ll take the lead as you will: • Design, implement and maintain collaborative editing features for Target’s designers and merchants. • Connect the Tile application to Target’s product and materials data sources. • Integrate the Tile application into the PLM ecosystem by building search, notification and reporting capabilities. • Help scale the Tile application as it onboards a large cohort of new users in 2027. • Improve reliability and observability of our application to help maintain a high engineering quality bar and excellent user experience as we grow. Note that although this position has a substantial front-end component, we are looking for candidates who well help us grow and harden our backend ecosystem as much as we are looking for front-end expertise.
