The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of electro-optical infrared subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements, You will design, develop, build, and test EW systems in conjunction with key suppliers. Responsibilities: • Support development and integration of subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives • Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. • Perform functional and performance analyses • Conducting trade studies • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders • Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews • Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs. Basic Qualifications: • Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience • Knowledge of EO/IR phenomenology • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EOIR equipment for airborne platforms. • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in EO/IR system and atmospheric modeling • Knowledge of digital image processing algorithms • Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level • Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools • Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence) • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection • Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and respons
