As an Associate Director - Data Science, you will lead the design and delivery of next-Generation Generative Artificial Intelligence and agentic solutions, partnering with global stakeholders to solve complex biomedical challenges at scale. This is an opportunity to combine scientific curiosity, technical excellence, and strategic leadership to create measurable impact for patients, researchers, and the future of healthcare while shaping the evolution of enterprise AI capabilities across Novartis.   Job Description Key Responsibilities • Lead the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of Generative Artificial Intelligence and agentic solutions. • Translate complex biomedical and business challenges into scalable data science and artificial intelligence strategies. • Drive innovation by applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and enterprise data management practices. • Partner with scientific, technical, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable impact and strategic outcomes. • Establish robust data lifecycle practices to ensure trusted, accessible, and high-quality enterprise data. • Guide cross-functional teams in solving critical business problems through data-driven decision making. • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to advance analytical capabilities. • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to senior leaders and non-technical audiences. • Build organizational capabilities through mentoring, coaching, knowledge sharing, and best-practice development. • Contribute to external scientific communities through research, publications, and industry collaborations. Essential Requirements • 8+ Years expertise in designing, deploying, evaluating, and scaling Generative Artificial Intelligence and agentic systems. • Strong programming and software engineering experience using Python, application programming interfaces, and cloud platforms. • Experience building production-grade solutions with testing, continuous integration, deployment, observability, and security practices. • Demonstrated ability to apply machine learning, advanced analytics, and data science to complex business challenges. • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate scientific needs into practical solutions. • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, influencing decisions across technical and non-technical audiences.
