About the role

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to support DeltaV-based manufacturing control systems in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid Distributed Control System (DCS) background who is looking to further develop expertise in DeltaV, batch automation (ISA-88 principles), and manufacturing systems. While DeltaV experience is preferred, candidates with experience on Honeywell, Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens PCS7, or similar DCS platforms are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities • Support and maintain manufacturing automation systems. • Troubleshoot and modify batch applications, recipes, and control strategies. • Support DeltaV configuration, testing, and operational activities. • Investigate and resolve automation, hardware, and communication issues. • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support manufacturing. • Participate in commissioning, qualification, and change control activities. • Contribute to system improvements and continuous optimization initiatives.   Key Requirements • BSc/MSc degree in electrical engineering, automation, computer science, or equivalent. • Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial DCS systems. • DeltaV experience preferred but not mandatory. • Strong understanding of batch automation concepts and ISA-88 standards. • Experience troubleshooting automation applications and process control systems. • Basic knowledge of automation hardware, controllers, I/O systems, and field instrumentation. • Basic understanding of virtualized infrastructure • Basic knowledge of industrial networking, including switches, firewalls, and network troubleshooting. • Basic understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and domain administration. • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, or AS-i. • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environment is an advantage. • Technical documentation/report writing ability. • Fluent English communication skills. • Fluent Croatian is preferred.    Candidate’s profile • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop new technical skills. • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take ownership. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Willing to participate in shift work (morning and afternoon shifts during the batch production), after-hours support, and on-call rotations (for night shifts and holidays).
