A Day in the Life The Medical Education function within the Surgical business develops and delivers healthcare professional education programs that support the safe and effective adoption of Medtronic surgical technologies. This team partners with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Commercial teams, clinical experts, and physician faculty to design evidence-based learning experiences that align with clinical practice, emerging evidence, product innovation, and educational needs across the surgical portfolio. This position is a remote role within the United States and requires approximately 50% travel to support educational programs, faculty engagement activities, conferences, meetings, and other business needs.                     The Senior Principal Professional Affairs & Clinical Education Specialist leads the strategy, design, development, and execution of healthcare professional education programs that support clinical adoption of surgical technologies. This role partners with physician faculty, clinical experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop curriculum frameworks, educational content, and learning strategies that address healthcare professional education needs across the surgical portfolio. Primary Responsibilities • Lead the development and maintenance of curriculum frameworks, learner pathways, learning objectives, and program success metrics. • Develop and execute multi-year education strategies that support product launches, portfolio expansion, and emerging clinical evidence. • Identify and prioritize educational gaps through analysis of field insights, learner feedback, and program performance data. • Design and oversee creation of compliant educational content, including clinical presentations, case-based learning modules, facilitator guides, and digital learning assets. • Partner with physician faculty, clinical experts, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Commercial teams to develop and validate educational curricula and content. • Facilitate healthcare professional education programs focused on procedural training, technology adoption, and clinical best practices. • Lead physician engagement activities, consulting programs, and professional education initiatives that strengthen clinician relationships and educational impact. • Represent educational programs through participation in scientific meetings, conferences, symposia, and other professional education activities. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years OR Advanced degree with 8+ years of experience developing healthcare professional education programs, medical education curricula, clinical training initiatives, or learning pathways. • Experience developing curriculum, training materials, or educational content for healthcare professional or clinical audiences. • Experience leading cross-functional projects and collaborating with physicians, faculty members, key opinion leaders, or healthcare stakeholders. • Clinical, sales, or marketing experience supporting hernia, colorectal, gynecology, urology, bariatric, thoracic, robotic, or related surgical specialties. • Ability to travel approximately 50% within the United States.
