As a Senior Analyst on the Risk Analytics team within the Consumer & Business group, you'll own the identification and mitigation of account takeover (ATO) and scam risk across the Coinbase ecosystem. You'll build critical defenses that protect our users and platform integrity, using data to drive risk decisions that impact millions of customers. This is a high-impact role where you'll define risk metrics, shape prevention strategies, and partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to stay ahead of evolving threats. What you'll do: • Own end-to-end risk controls for ATO and scam prevention, scaling processes to maintain coverage as the business expands into new products and regions. • Define risk success metrics, build reporting frameworks, and drive continuous improvement by identifying and prioritizing control enhancements. • Leverage data to assess risk and make decisions impacting large customer segments, measuring and quantifying associated tradeoffs through rigorous analysis. • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to develop custom risk management strategies and techniques across the Coinbase product suite. • Synthesize data findings into clear narratives and recommendations that influence senior risk and product leadership decisions. • Investigate and mitigate fraudulent and scam activities by reviewing alerts on anomalous customer and transaction behavior. Required Skills and Experience: • 6+ years of hands-on risk experience in e-commerce or financial services, with at least 2 years focused on combating ATO and scams in a Fraud, Trust and Safety, or Account Security function. • 2+ years of professional experience in data analysis using SQL and Python, including working with large-scale databases. • Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Superset) to build dashboards and reporting frameworks. • Proven ability to independently scope and deliver analytics projects while collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams. • Familiarity with blockchain analytics and fraud trends within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
