Moderators are the heart of that ecosystem: they shape community norms, keep spaces healthy, and help communities grow. As Reddit continues to scale globally, this role will help define how we support moderators, reduce the burden of running healthy communities, and evolve moderation from reactive manual work into proactive, intelligent systems. We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to help define the future of moderation on Reddit. This is a rare opportunity to lead zero-to-one product work at the intersection of user-facing experience, community governance, and cutting-edge LLM systems. You will help Reddit move beyond legacy moderation approaches toward proactive, intelligent, and scalable community enforcement. This role is for a PM with exceptional product judgment, strong user intuition, and enough AI/ML depth to partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Safety. The right person can shape compelling user experiences, reason about model quality and tradeoffs, and create clarity in a high-stakes, high-visibility space where the product, technical, and ecosystem decisions all matter. Responsibilities • Identify Reddit’s highest-impact opportunities to evolve evolve community enforcement and moderator workflows, and turn them into a clear product strategy and roadmap. • Lead zero-to-one development of LLM-powered moderation experiences that are critical to how Reddit scales healthy communities globally. • Build a deep understanding of moderators, community members, and healthy community dynamics, and translate those insights into high-quality product experiences. • Define success metrics and model/product evaluation criteria that connect user value, community health, and Reddit’s broader strategy. • Reason about AI/ML quality, including precision, recall, error costs, coverage, latency, failure modes, human review, and feedback loops. • Assess high-stakes ecosystem tradeoffs across community health, moderator trust, user trust, safety, and product quality. • Partner with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Safety, Consumer, and senior leaders to drive execution in a highly visible company priority. • Communicate strategy, decisions, tradeoffs, and learning clearly to executive stakeholders. Must Haves: • Staff-level product experience owning meaningful consumer surfaces or systems with measurable user impact. • Exceptional product sense across user intuition, problem framing, prioritization, UX judgment, and product taste. • Track record leading ambiguous zero-to-one or major product-evolution work from strategy through launch and learning. • Experience building AI/ML-powered products, with fluency in model evaluation and product/model tradeoffs. • Strong analytical judgment, including defining metrics, interpreting evidence, and changing direction when needed. • Excellent cross-functional leadership with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Safety, and partner teams in ambiguous, technically complex spaces. Nice-to-Haves: • Experience with community, social, creator, UGC, trust/safety, or moderation products. • Experience with ML-heavy consumer surfaces or policy-sensitive AI experiences. •
