About the role
Use Your Power for Purpose As the Director of Benefits within the People Experience division, you will play a crucial role in advancing our benefits programs. Your efforts will ensure Pfizer colleagues receive the support they need to excel, ultimately contributing to Pfizer's mission delivering breakthroughs that change patients' lives. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both our workforce and the broader community we serve. What You Will Achieve In this role, you will: • Develop and execute benefits and related communications strategies • Develop and lead/co-lead highly complex projects, creating mid-term plans that impact results. • Leverage relationships to meet the needs of Global Business Unit/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit, serving as an advisor to others. • Make decisions in complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and recommend courses of action impacting the Global Business Unit/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit. • Influence management and senior staff decisions, supporting the resolution of complex problems. • Act independently on self-initiated projects, leveraging knowledge from others and exercising judgment in complex decisions within the Global Business Unit/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit. • Review work for effectiveness and business impact, and evaluate the contributions of other colleagues. • Exercise foresight and judgment utilizing knowledge and experience within the Global Business Unit/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit. • Manage Direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all benefits programs. • Serve as an advisor to others, leveraging relationships to meet the needs of the organization. Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements) • BA/BS with at least 8 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 7 years of experience or PhD/JD with at least 5 years of experience or MD/DVM with at least 4 years of experience • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and regulations • Proven experience in project management and leading complex initiatives • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and stakeholders • Experience in managing direct reports and developing talent • Proficiency in benefits administration systems • Strong organizational and time management skills Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements): • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field • Certification in benefits or HR (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR) • Experience in a global or multinational organization • Knowledge of global benefits trends and best practices • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities • Excellent leadership and team-building skills • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities • Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
