The ideal candidate will have the exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex scientific risks and regulations to both executive stakeholders and lab researchers Position Responsibilities: • Evaluate Cutting-Edge Risks : Conduct qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene surveys to evaluate unique and evolving occupational exposures to chemical, physical, and biological hazards • Champion Chemical Safety : Provide strategic and technical oversight for complex chemical safety programs, ensuring safe storage, handling, and ventilation of novel research materials • Partner with Innovators : Collaborate directly with engineering, manufacturing, research, and design teams to integrate engineering controls into newly developed lab processes • Manage Specialized IH Programs : Lead and audit foundational health programs tailored to a lab environment, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, and Laser/Radiation safety • Analyze and Interpret Data : Oversee exposure monitoring equipment, interpret complex analytical lab results, and draft impactful technical summaries detailing risk and mitigation plans Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety related field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Toxicology, Bio-Engineering, Public Health, etc.) • 3+ years of experience performing Occupational Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene duties in an industrial environment • 3+ years of experience performing health and safety risk assessments, developing and managing safety programs, and performing audit Preferred Qualifications • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation or actively working toward it • Experience managing nanomaterials, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), or exotic aerospace chemical alloys • Understanding of OSHA regulations, ACGIH TLVs, and modern occupational health standards Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
