About the role
The Opportunity Adobe's Privacy Office is hiring an experienced privacy attorney as Director, Associate General Counsel to lead privacy legal support for Adobe's Customer & Experience Organization (CXO) - the business behind Adobe's Digital Experience products and enterprise data platforms. This is your chance to work for a global brand with an unparalleled culture where privacy really matters! You will lead a group of privacy lawyers and provide main privacy legal guidance to Sales Legal, Product Legal, and Partnerships Legal within CXO. Responsibilities involve offering product privacy counsel, assisting with enterprise deals, and tackling AdTech/MarTech and data platform issues critical to enterprise digital experiences. This position requires both managing the team and actively handling challenging product and commercial privacy concerns. What you'll Do Lead the CXO Privacy Legal team • Coordinate, mentor, and develop a team of privacy counsel supporting the CXO business. • Set priorities and balance coverage across product, sales, and partnerships demand. • Take responsibility for the team's operating model, playbooks, PIAs, and knowledge repositories. Advise product and technical teams • Engage with Product Legal, Engineering, Product, Security, and Marketing teams to promote the development and adoption of Privacy-By-Design frameworks for digital marketing solutions and systems to address privacy and security risks while enabling product innovation. • Counsel product and engineering teams regarding Privacy-By-Design for data platforms, customer data platforms (CDPs), identity resolution, data collaboration, journey orchestration, and AI-enabled marketing features. • Develop, apply, and evaluate privacy impact assessments for Adobe products and technologies, including new AI initiatives. Lead projects to simplify and improve the privacy assessment process. • Build and scale product privacy playbooks and templates so mentorship reaches teams without one-off review. • Track and implement developments in privacy law, data-broker regulation, AdTech/MarTech enforcement, and AI governance. Support enterprise deals • Support Sales Legal and other legal teams in handling privacy-related negotiations involving customers, partners, and vendors. Deliver regular training, develop templates and playbooks, and give hands-on assistance for strategic deals. Identify and promote improvements to make privacy negotiations more efficient. • Be a privacy ambassador on enterprise customer calls and in meetings with external collaborators. • Serve as counsel for privacy and data-protection terms in enterprise sales negotiations, providing heightened support during quarter-end and year-end close cycles. • Manage advertising and marketing technology along with data-platform privacy • Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders to help make privacy a competitive differentiator for Adobe. • Serve as a privacy advocate inside Adobe to help grow our culture of privacy (e.g., conduct trainings, represent the Privacy Office in product strategy and development sessions). • Advise on privacy and regulatory issues specific to AdTech/MarTech technology. This includes data sourcing and enrichment, data-broker regulation, consent and preference management, and messaging/communications compliance (e.g., TCPA). • Structure data integrations and partnerships to manage regulatory-classification risk. What you need to succeed • J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar. • Minimum 10+ years of relevant privacy legal experience, including substantial in-house experience at a technology, SaaS, or data-driven company, and demonstrated people-management experience; management of attorneys strongly preferred.
