About the role
IN SHORT Are you a versatile problem-solver who wants to write software that impacts the physical world? As a Full Stack Software Engineer (100%) in Zurich, you will be at the core of our operations, building systems that touch everything from warehouse automation to customer-facing smart fridges. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES • Take ownership of warehouse and supplier web apps used daily for inbound processing, picking, labeling, and inventory. • Develop and maintain our internal back-office tool, including the backend and GraphQL API that runs menus, deliveries, inventory, and customer sites. • Manage the service connecting automated picking lanes to the rest of the system to ensure uninterrupted warehouse operations. • Maintain and update the Point of Sale Android app running on hundreds of fridges, managing the release process for the entire fleet. • Integrate and support payment systems (Card, TWINT), our ERP, and other partner integrations. • Participate in the on-call rotation to debug live issues directly alongside the operations team. • Visit the warehouse on-site to test changes and gather feedback from the people actually using the software. • Translate vague problems from non-technical colleagues into shipped solutions without needing them broken down first. • Own production deployments, managing logs, alerts, and careful rollouts with clear rollback plans. • Break down larger features, review other engineers' pull requests, and proactively maintain system health through upgrades, testing, and cleanup. YOUR PROFILE • Proven production experience in at least one typed backend language (such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, or TypeScript) and one modern frontend framework. • Track record of successfully owning software in production, including on-call duties, debugging from logs, and resolving live issues while users wait. • Familiarity with or willingness to dive into C#, TypeScript, Android, and Kotlin. • Prior exposure to hardware, IoT, edge devices, payments, logistics, retail operations, or Odoo environments is highly advantageous. • Demonstrated ability to dive into unfamiliar tech stacks, learn quickly, and ship reliable code. • Strong passion for collaborating directly with end-users, including warehouse and operations staff, rather than exclusively with other engineers. • High degree of curiosity and a proactive mindset to take full ownership of problems from end to end. • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken); knowledge of German or French is a plus. • Non-smoker - we don't want you to smell like cigarettes, neither at work nor at customer meetings. After all, FELFEL is about good food. • Valid work permit or Swiss passport. OUR BENEFITS • Lots of delicious food, just a few steps away from your desk - we make your gastronomic dreams come true • Best barista coffee and tea for the whole team, thanks to our innovative Gavetti coffee machine • 5 weeks holiday per year, as well as the chance to buy an extra week of vacation • Two full weeks of ‘work from anywhere’ per year to bring more variety to your work day • We care about your future with an above-mandatory pension fund • New parents get 16 or 3 weeks, respectively, of fully paid parental leave. We also support the return to work by making a generous financial contribution to childcare until the child reaches kindergarten age. • We encourage our employees to use public transport by covering your half-fare travelcard • Great team events, such as our well-known FELFEL Summer Outing • Stay active and healthy with our weekly sports sessions Does this sound like the job for you?
