Pinterest is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Policy Communications to lead its Policy Communications team. In this role, you will lead in shaping the public narrative around Pinterest’s policy and trust & safety priorities – including responsible AI and youth safety – at a pivotal moment for the industry and on a global scale. You will guide the development and execution of media relations and communications campaigns that strategically support Pinterest’s public policy, regulatory and safety objectives, with the goal of creating an environment for the company’s continued growth and success. You will devise communications materials that crisply articulate Pinterest’s products, company values and safety approach to media, policy audiences, industry voices and other key opinion formers in a complex, fast-moving regulatory landscape. The right person for this opportunity must be proactive, entrepreneurial and be comfortable with ambiguity with substantial policy communications experience to make quick, well-informed decisions. You will work cross-functionally with leaders across Pinterest and serve as a trusted advisor. You will also work with external stakeholders to shape the environment for Pinterest’s policy and safety goals to succeed. What you’ll do: • Shape the industry news and policy debates that most directly affect Pinterest through proactive campaigns and rapid-response communications. • Partner with cross-functional teams across Government Affairs, Legal, Compliance and Trust & Safety to develop and drive a strategic media relations agenda that translates Pinterest’s policy and safety objectives into successful communications campaigns that set the stage for Pinterest’s continued success. • Develop and strengthen relationships with key tech policy press, publications, broadcasters, opinion formers, experts, emerging media platforms, Hill staff and third-party stakeholders to advance Pinterest’s reputation and priorities. • Anticipate, monitor and manage reputational issues, threats, and fast-moving regulatory developments with effective communications plans and strategies. • Partner with cross-functional leaders across Pinterest to ensure Pinterest’s mission and business are well-understood and well-perceived. • Represent Pinterest at relevant conferences, panels, and industry events, articulating the company’s policy and safety positions effectively and fostering constructive dialogue. • Draft press releases, blog posts, FAQs, and key messages.
