About the role
This is a full-time onsite role based in the location(s) posted and is performed from the designated work location five days per week. Job Overview The AVP-Technology serves as a senior leader responsible for driving strategic wireless infrastructure initiatives that support AT&T's 5G growth, network modernization, and long-term cost optimization objectives. This role leads teams of network and technical professionals delivering complex infrastructure programs across tower assets, sourcing, analytics, automation, and digital transformation efforts. Responsibilities include leading tower lease optimization initiatives, negotiating strategic infrastructure agreements, leveraging AI and advanced analytics to improve decision-making, and partnering across Engineering, Network Planning, Construction, Legal, and Finance to execute business priorities and maximize network investment value. What You'll Do • Lead network and technical teams responsible for high-priority wireless infrastructure initiatives and strategic programs. • Define and execute infrastructure strategies supporting 5G deployment, network modernization, and portfolio optimization. • Oversee tower lease optimization, asset rationalization, and technology-driven cost reduction initiatives. • Utilize AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve processes, data quality, planning, and investment decisions. • Lead complex sourcing strategies and commercial negotiations with tower companies and infrastructure providers. • Structure agreements that improve financial outcomes, operational flexibility, and long-term business value. • Partner with RAN Engineering, Network Planning, Construction, Legal, and Finance to align execution with enterprise objectives. • Lead end-to-end program management including business cases, planning, budgets, governance, KPI tracking, and executive reporting. What You'll Need • Experience leading large-scale network infrastructure, wireless technology, technical sourcing, or telecommunications organizations. • Strong knowledge of wireless infrastructure, tower asset management, network modernization, and strategic sourcing. • Experience applying analytics, automation, AI, and digital transformation solutions to business and operational challenges. • Expertise in commercial negotiations, contract strategy, financial analysis, and executive stakeholder management. • Ability to influence cross-functional leaders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives to successful outcomes. What You'll Bring • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Business, or related field. • Required: 10+ years of related leadership experience in network infrastructure, wireless technology, or technical sourcing. • Preferred: Experience leading large organizations, strategic sourcing negotiations, and enterprise-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives. • Scope: Leads large teams and typically supervises supervisors and senior staff while influencing cross-functional initiatives across AT&T.
