About the role

Why this role matters As we grow, we’re looking for a People & Operations Business Partner to help us build and maintain the foundations that support our team, from hiring and onboarding to policies, compliance, benefits, and the day-to-day employee experience. You’ll be hands-on from day one, working closely with the COO to make sure our people processes are well organised, practical, and consistently applied. You’ll take ownership of the execution, while working with the COO on key people decisions and direction. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting things done and building effective processes, rather than someone expected to run the entire people function independently. This role offers a strong opportunity to progress towards a Head of People position. What you’ll do • Support recruitment end-to-end, including writing and posting job specs, screening and shortlisting candidates for department heads, coordinating interviews, and managing offers. • Build and maintain a smooth, consistent onboarding process so every new hire is set up for success from day one. • Update, maintain, and roll out HR policies, procedures, and employment contracts in partnership with the COO and external advisors. • Own benefits administration and act as a first point of contact for day-to-day people-related questions. • Organise internal team events, meetups, and offsites alongside our Events Coordinator. • Support performance management and feedback processes across the team. • Help ensure we remain compliant with employment regulations across the countries we operate in, including the UK, Ireland, and other EU markets. • Keep our HR systems, documentation, and employee records organised and up to date. • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or potential risks in our people processes and work with the COO to address them. • Help make the employee experience consistent, professional, and well organised as we continue to grow. • Support day-to-day office and workplace operations, ensuring the team has the resources and support they need to work effectively. • Support the COO with operational planning, process improvement, and cross-functional projects as the company grows. • Help to develop and maintain efficient internal processes, systems, and workflows across people and business operations. • Coordinate travel, company meetings, and other operational requirements where needed. What you’ll bring • Organised and reliable: you follow through, stay on top of details, and keep things moving. • Hands-on: you’re comfortable writing job ads, reviewing CVs, coordinating interviews, drafting policies, and managing the practical side of HR. • Strong HR knowledge: you have a solid working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance, ideally across more than one jurisdiction. • Process-minded: you enjoy creating clear, practical systems and processes that make things easier for everyone. • Tech comfortable: you can confidently set up, maintain, and improve digital HR systems and tools. • A strong communicator: you build trust easily and can communicate clearly and appropriately with people at all levels of the business. • Comfortable working with leadership: you can take direction, use good judgement, and turn decisions into action without needing constant oversight. • People-focused: you care about creating a positive, fair, and well-run working environment. • Discreet and trustworthy: you’ll be handling sensitive employee information and need to exercise good judgement and confidentiality. Preferred experience • Experience in a startup, scale-up, SaaS or technology business. • Exposure to UK and Irish employment law. • Experience supporting employees across more than one jurisdiction. • Experience improving HR systems or proc
