Evident Technology Center Europe GmbH (ETCE), based in Münster, Germany, has been developing and producing intelligent software and hardware solutions for microscopy as a global "Center of Excellence" for over 35 years. Originally, ETCE was part of Olympus Corporation. Olympus spun off the business unit in April 2022 and transferred the business activities of its Scientific Solutions division to the newly founded, independent company Evident. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Evident employs around 2,000 people at a total of 57 locations worldwide. Evident Europe, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, employs approximately 350 people in 14 countries. The product portfolio includes a wide range of microscope systems used in clinical diagnostics, medical and basic research, as well as in various industrial areas. Our Vision “e:: shall be a state-of-the-art and developer-friendly software basis for rapid and continuous delivery of stable, secure, and high-performing microscopy solutions.” The e:: Platform will follow these aspects: • Flexible to adopt changes in strategy, technical trends, and market requirements • Attractive environment for both developers and applicants • Provide open interfaces Your Tasks • Develop and maintain high-quality software components written in modern languages such as C++20/23 and Rust , using AI coding assistants and agents in your daily work • Contribute to an agile development environment with a strong focus on continuous integration and deployment/delivery • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test software tailored to cutting-edge microscopy solutions • Explore and integrate new technologies to keep our platform at the forefront of innovation Requirements • Excellent proficiency in C++ or Rust (experience with both is preferred) • English skills (fluent in writing and speaking) to communicate effectively with global teams and stakeholders • Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and modern development tools • Hands-on experience with agentic AI in software development, e.g. AI coding assistants and agents (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor), prompt and context engineering, and AI-supported code review and testing • Ability to critically assess AI-generated C++ and Rust code for correctness, security and performance (e.g. memory safety, concurrency, undefined behaviour) • Nice to have: experience building agentic workflows or tooling (e.g. LLM APIs, tool calling, MCP, multi-agent patterns) and integrating them into CI/CD pipeline • Academic Background: A completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable field • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development for application software or large-scale professional systems • Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, FDD) and CI/CD practices • Open-minded and adaptable, with a solution-oriented mindset and readiness to embrace changing technologies, AI-driven ways of working and market demands • A constructive team player who values collaboration and contributes by proposing thoughtful, actionable solutions instead of focusing on criticism • Your Benefits • Flexible working hours, incl. mobile work (50:50 remote and on-site) • 30 days of holiday time each year • 13,5 salaries a year • Regular training courses • Extensive company pension scheme • Job bike • Preventive healthcare, free beverages & fresh fruit and vegetables daily • Joint company events and activities • Interesting, diversified field of activity in an international working environment Evident Europe Gm
