US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
As a System Test Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and operational performance of our unmanned systems (aircraft, vehicle). You will develop a deep understanding of our products, their system & software architecture, hardware components, interfaces, and operational use cases. Based on system and software requirements, you will define effective verification strategies, specify test cases, and execute tests across different test environments (simulation and hardware-in-the-loop setups). This position combines analytical system thinking, hands-on testing, and test automation. You will work closely with software, systems, hardware, simulation, and flight-test teams to identify risks, uncover defects, and provide objective evidence that our products meet their intended requirements. By continuously improving our verification methods, test coverage, and automation, you will contribute directly to the safety, reliability, and successful release of our next-generation unmanned aircraft systems. What is your Day to Day Mission: • Develop a test strategy to validate our entire software stack for unmanned systems (vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL), unmanned ground vehicle). • Understand the architecture, functionality, interfaces, and operational behavior of our unmanned systems. • Evaluate and develop AI-powered testing solutions, including AI agent-based systems, to automate test implementation, improve test generation, and increase the efficiency of our verification processes. • Create new end-to-end integration tests. • Review, challenge, and optimize existing test cases. • Proactively expand test coverage in a structured way to identify and push system limits. • Develop an automated test framework that enables developers to continuously extend the test suite. • Execute functional, integration, regression, robustness, and end-to-end system tests in SIL, HIL, and real-system environments. • Work closely with software developers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, simulation teams, flight-test teams, and product stakeholders. What you bring to the team: • A successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification (e.g., ISTQB certification) • 3+ years of experience in system / software testing or working in similar role • Experience analyzing system and software requirements and deriving traceable verification artefacts using requirements management tools • Strong understanding of complex system architectures and experience executing and troubleshooting end-to-end tests across software and hardware components • Practical experience in building hardware/software-in-the-loop setups, from concept to implementation • Interest or experience in AI-assisted test specification / software development, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI agent frameworks applied to software testing and automation is a strong plus. • Proficiency in developing, optimizing and maintaining automated test cases using Python or a comparable language • Hands-on experience with Robot test automation framework • Experience with CI/CD tools (ideally GitHub) and Docker • Experience with DO-178C is advantageous • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Proactive, organized and a team player mindset • Ability to balance multiple assignments Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented.
