About the role
About the Team ServiceNow's Applied AI Forward Deployed Engineering team is an entrepreneurial, fast-growing, fast-moving function at the center of ServiceNow's shift to AI-native. We sit at the front lines of the most strategic agentic engagements in the Fortune 500 - partnering directly with C-suite buyers to translate ambiguous business problems into production-grade agentic builds that move the needle on revenue, cost, and customer experience. Our central technical function ensures we're meeting market demand at pace, scaling without sacrificing production fidelity, and feeding the signals from frontier customer work back into the ServiceNow product ecosystem. About the Role We're hiring a Principal, AI Deployment Strategy to own where the FDE organization deploys its talent for maximum impact. This role sits at the seam between our portfolio of engagements, our global capacity, and our critical GTM, sales, and product relationships. You'll calibrate how we allocate FDE resources against the highest-leverage customer, product, and market opportunities. This is a strategist-operator role, not a coordinator's - every deployment decision, every capacity constraint, every scale path is yours to solve at an expert caliber. The right person has lived across GTM, value technical value, and delivery, has the executive presence to hold a room with senior sales and product leadership. Who Thrives Here Operator-builders who've sat in seats across GTM, value engineering, and delivery and want all three at once. Comfortable being the strategist in a GTM planning session on Monday and the deployment tactician solving capacity trade-offs on Tuesday. No ego about scope; deep ego about outcomes. What You'll Own FDE Global Deployment & Portfolio Strategy Own the global FDE portfolio and allocation strategy. Work with regional leadership, Geo Presidents, and SVP/GTM to calibrate where FDE delivers the most impact on revenue, product signal, and customer reference value. Run the investment thesis that positions the FDE team in the highest-conviction customer, product, and GTM moments. Navigate the competing priorities across regions, portfolios, and strategic accounts and make the calls that maximize team impact globally, not just locally. 2. FDE Investment Strategy & ROI Operations FDE capacity is scarce and expensive. Deploy it like capital. • Treat every FDE engagement as an investment. Approve only work tied to a clear strategic imperative or commercial outcome: a renewal, net-new ACV, or a key product expansion. Set approval criteria that hold up under CFO scrutiny. Lock scope, success criteria, and the target outcome before work starts, then track every engagement through to the result. • Prove the return. Measure the renewals, net-new ACV, consumption, and expansion influenced per FDE-week, by engagement type, region, and industry. Make sure every value case clears its cost to serve. Use the results to steer where FDE deploys next and when to scale headcount or extend through partner capacity. 3. Value Velocity & Build Economics Compress the time from use case identification to value defined, aligned to token burn, and executive-signed-off. Build the repeatable playbook that gets engagements from "interesting problem" to "approved investment with quantified outcomes" in a fraction of the current cycle. Scale that playbook across the portfolio so every FDE engagement benefits from the same velocity and rigor, regardless of region or industry. 4. Evolving Initiatives & Scale Path Orchestration Stay close to what's working in the portfolio and what's not. Own the emerging initiatives that define FDE's next frontier - agentic use cases, go-to-market motions, industry verticals, platform capabilities - and build the scale paths that t
