One solid signal, not two — worth applying, and worth asking about sponsorship early.
- Employer is on a government sponsor recordThe US Department of Labor certified 2,374 H-1B/E-3 labor condition applications for this employer between Oct 2025 and Jun 2026 (latest Jun 2026) — the step every H-1B hire needs first. USCIS also records 394 H-1B approvals in FY2023. Source: LCA disclosure data (US Department of Labor (OFLC)).

- No salary bar for this routeH-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Are you looking to be part of a fun, creative company at the forefront of groundbreaking technologies? NVIDIA is leading the way in some of the world's most exciting tech areas, including Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Autonomous Vehicles. We are widely recognized as one of the most desirable employers, with some of the most forward-thinking individuals in the industry working with us. There has never been a more exciting time to join our team! We are looking for a highly motivated Planning and Control Adaptation Intern to join our autonomous driving team. You will work with experienced engineers to support Planning and Control integration and adaptation across multiple vehicle platforms, while gaining hands-on experience in issue analysis, algorithm validation, and engineering tool development. What You Will Be Doing: • Support Planning and Control integration, parameter tuning, and adaptation across vehicle platforms with different dynamics, steering and braking systems, and actuator configurations. • Analyze driving issues involving path and speed planning, lane changes, merging, yielding, intersections, and lateral and longitudinal control. • Use simulation, replay tools, and vehicle logs to reproduce issues, investigate root causes, and validate improvements. • Perform cross-carline testing and evaluate driving safety, comfort, smoothness, and robustness. • Develop Python or C++ tools for log analysis, parameter comparison, regression testing, and result visualization. • Collaborate with Planning and Control engineers on integration, validation, and delivery for production autonomous driving programs. What We Need to See: • Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. • Good C++ or Python programming skills, with familiarity with Linux development and software debugging workflows. • Basic understanding of motion planning, vehicle control, vehicle kinematics or dynamics, or numerical optimization, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams. • Able to work at least three days per week throughout the internship. Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd: • Research, internship, or competition experience related to autonomous driving or robotics. • Familiarity with path planning, trajectory optimization, MPC, PID, A*, Hybrid A*, or related algorithms. • Experience with ROS, Apollo, Autoware, CARLA, CarMaker, or similar platforms. • Experience with vehicle logs, CAN signals, simulation, parameter tuning, or engineering tool development.
