About the role
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk. About the team As the leading independent identity provider for the enterprise, Okta is on a mission to build a world-class brand. Driving that mission is the Brand & Creative team: a dynamic group of art directors, designers, writers, strategists, project managers, and producers who bring the Okta brand to life across every touchpoint. Within Brand & Creative, our team tells powerful stories, elevates high-visibility moments, and crafts design systems that scale across digital and physical environments globally. We partner closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing to turn major strategic initiatives into inspiring, category-defining creative work. About the role As a Motion Designer, you will occupy a unique and influential intersection on our team: balancing the rigor of our central motion design system with the versatility to concept and craft bespoke, show-stopping motion for our most critical brand moments. We are looking for a nimble, craft-obsessed motion designer who moves fluidly between two complementary mindsets: • The Systems Architect: Building, maintaining, and codifying scalable motion infrastructure—modular After Effects templates, MOGRTs, centralized toolkits, and expression-driven assets that keep our visual identity unified and empower the broader creative team to move fast. • The Bespoke Maker: Developing dynamic, impact-focused creative solutions that break through the noise—whether designing immersive LED screen loops for flagship events like Oktane, animating punchy social storytelling, elevating high-stakes brand campaigns, or breathing kinetic life into brand films. If you love sweating the micro-details of timing, easing, and visual storytelling just as much as you love building smart, reusable systems that elevate an entire brand, this role is built for you. What you'll be doing • Balance Systems & Bespoke Craft: Seamlessly oscillate between scaling our central motion design system and rolling up your sleeves to execute custom, high-visibility animation across campaigns, events, digital, and video. • Architect & Maintain Central Motion Systems: Champion Okta’s motion guidelines and infrastructure. Design, document, and maintain modular After Effects project templates, Essential Graphics (MOGRTs), and reusable motion libraries that make on-brand motion accessible to internal collaborators and external agency partners. • Deliver High-Impact Event Experiences: Concept and execute bespoke motion packages for owned flagship events (Oktane) and major industry activations (AWS re:Invent, RSAC, NRF, etc.). Craft immersive keynote walk-in loops, speaker intros, and environmental stage graphics tailored to custom LED dimensions and experiential spaces. • Craft Standout Brand & Campaign Motion: Partner with our Senior Motion Designer and Creative Leads to translate high-level campaign briefs into expressive motion graphics, kinetic typography, and animated concepts that elevate product launches, brand announcements, and company milestones. • Drive Dynamic Social & Digital Storytelling: Bring fresh energy, pacing, and visual wit to social channels (LinkedIn, YouTube, X) and digital touchpoints, translating complex enterprise security and AI narratives into captivating, scroll-sto
