ROLE DESCRIPTION Help us build the future of grid-scale energy storage and tackle climate change. As a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer, you will own the end-to-end manufacturing ecosystem for our multi-megawatt battery systems—building high-volume assembly lines from the ground up at our brand-new 550,000 sq. ft. facility. What You’ll Do - Own the Assembly Line: Lead the strategy, selection, build, and deployment of assembly equipment—from early manual benchtop prototypes to fully automated, high-volume production lines. - Drive DFM/DFA: Partner directly with design engineers to shape battery cell designs early, ensuring seamless scaling and manufacturability. - Manage High-Budget Integrations: Select, negotiate with, and lead external equipment integrators and vendors from initial spec through final commissioning. - Build & Qualify: Install, commission, qualify, and ramp production line equipment while designing robust processes optimized for safety, uptime, and throughput. - Troubleshoot & Scale: Lead rapid root-cause analysis for complex, time-sensitive manufacturing issues at every stage of product and manufacturing development as we launch first-of-their-kind products. What You’ll Bring - 8+ years of manufacturing, equipment, or automation engineering experience in electro-mechanical or battery assembly environments. - Proven Track Record: Experience sourcing, buying, commissioning, and qualifying custom automated manufacturing lines from external integrators. - Cross-Functional Influence: Strong DFM/DFA background with the communication skills needed to influence and own design decisions that affect manufacturability. - Hands-on Mentality: Comfort moving between high-level vendor strategy and hands-on debugging on the factory floor. - Education: BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
