About the role

The Opportunity: International Tax Manager, Tax Operations At Adobe, we empower the world's most creative minds through digital experiences that shape the future! Our Global Tax team plays a critical role in enabling that innovation, delivering high-quality tax solutions that support growth across 50+ countries. We're seeking a hands-on, analytical professional to lead Adobe's U.S. withholding tax function and drive the systems and processes behind it. Reporting to the Director of U.S. International Tax and based in San Jose, this role pairs technical execution with a strong operations and technology mandate: building, improving, and scaling the platforms and workflows that keep Adobe's tax function accurate and efficient. You will coordinate Pillar Two compliance and assist with related provision work. You will manage U.S. transfer pricing allocations and support the broader U.S. international tax compliance and provision cycle. You will also contribute to M&A integration and other cross-functional initiatives. You're a self-starter who takes initiative, owns problems end to end, and drives workstreams forward with minimal oversight, defining the approach and aligning partners rather than waiting for direction. As tax laws, business operations, and the global operating environment continue to evolve rapidly, we need a Manager who is eager to learn, adapt quickly, and expand their impact across the organization, helping Adobe navigate complex tax matters effectively. What you'll do: Own U.S. Withholding Tax (1042) End-to-End • Own the entire workflow for U.S. tax withholding on outbound vendor payments. This includes technical determinations, W-8/W-9 documentation, deposits, reconciliations, and Form 1042/1042-S reporting and filings. You will also handle IRS audit defense. • Manage and maintain Adobe's Qualified Intermediary (QI) framework and its ongoing compliance, including leading the periodic QI assessment and validation and directing external advisors through the process. • Manage the back-office platforms related to Adobe’s withholding tax processes and their day-to-day operations, directing operational support for the workflow. • Lead the tax technical analysis of novel and complex payment streams (for example, AI dataset and training-related payments), engage and align external advisors on the position taken, and translate conclusions into scalable, defensible system logic. • Serve as the subject-matter expert on withholding tax matters for Adobe throughout the business. Build and Scale Tax Systems, Automation, and Operations • Partner with IT, Procurement, Supplier Onboarding, and business optimization teams to compose, build, and maintain withholding tax and associated tax systems. • Drive continuous process improvement and automation to scale workflows, improve accuracy, and reduce manual effort. Manage U.S. Transfer Pricing Charge-Outs and Cross Charges • Manage the U.S. headquarter services charge-out, including cost pool and markup calculations, coordination with functional controllers, and preparation of the supporting transfer pricing report and documentation as well as managing the associated SOX controls. • Support other intercompany transfer pricing cross charges and their operational implementation.
