IT Field Service Technician II

SIXT is looking for an experienced IT Field Service Technician II to lead technology installations and deployments across our growing North American branch network. In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of complex IT setups, troubleshoot network and hardware issues, and support the successful opening of new SIXT locations. You will work closely with our IT teams, coordinate with contractors, and provide technical guidance to Field Service Technicians. This position requires 40–50% nationwide travel and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT • You will lead IT installations at new SIXT locations, coordinating everything from cabling and equipment setup to network testing and successful branch openings • You will configure and troubleshoot switches, Wi-Fi access points, printers, Lancom routers, and other network equipment in collaboration with the Network & Systems team • You will perform network connectivity testing, verify VLAN configurations, validate firewall settings, and troubleshoot complex hardware and connectivity issues • You will coordinate with third-party contractors, electricians, and vendors during site walkthroughs, cabling installations, and technology deployments • You will provide Tier 2 on-site technical support, serve as an escalation point for IT Field Service Technician I, and help identify and resolve recurring technical issues • You will maintain accurate site documentation, including network diagrams, IP configurations, cable maps, hardware inventories, and installation checklists while coordinating with IT teams for ongoing branch support YOUR SKILLS MATTER • IT Field Experience You have 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT field services, systems administration, or a similar technical role, with the ability to independently manage technology installations at commercial locations • Hardware Installation & Cabling You have experience with structured cabling standards, IT equipment installations, and creating or interpreting network diagrams, cable maps, and technical documentation • Networking & Troubleshooting You have intermediate networking knowledge, including VLAN configuration, switch setup, Wi-Fi deployment, firewall fundamentals, and resolving complex connectivity issues • Systems & Certifications You have experience with Microsoft 365 and Intune, along with CompTIA Network+ or equivalent knowledge, while CompTIA A+, CCNA, and experience with Lancom, Cisco, or Meraki are considered a plus • Leadership & Coordination You have experience coordinating with contractors and vendors, guiding junior technicians, and working independently to complete technical projects, preferably in a multi-site retail or hospitality environment • Travel & Flexibility You have a valid driver's license and the flexibility to travel 40–50% nationwide to support new branch openings and existing SIXT locations WHAT WE OFFER • Comprehensive Health Insurance Medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with life insurance and wellness benefits • Paid Time Off & Sick Leave Generous paid time off and sick leave to support your work-life balance • Career Growth Opportunities to develop your career within a growing global organization • Exclusive Employee Rentals Special discounts on SIXT vehicle rentals for employees • Collaborative Culture Work alongside supportive teams in an international environment • Professional Development & Additional Perks Opportunities to expand your technical skills, a 401(k) with company match, and additional employee discounts About us: We are a globally leading mobility service provider with a revenue of €4.3 billion and around 9,000 employees worldwide.
