About the role

About us Tamara is a leading fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region with a mission to help people own their dreams built on being simple, trusted, and everywhere our customers need us. Today, more than 25 million customers and over 130,000 partner merchants depend on Tamara every day for reliable financial solutions across retail, travel, education, healthcare, and beyond. Tamara is backed by Sanabil Investments, a wholly owned company of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and SNB Capital, among others. About the Role: Tamara is a leading buy now, pay later fintech operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, built around the mission of helping people Own Your Dream. A large part of how customers discover and use Tamara happens in-store—at the till and through conversations with store employees. As a Merchant Field & Marketing Intern, you will be Tamara's on-ground representative across assigned partner stores. You will help ensure Tamara is visible, understood, and confidently recommended by store teams. This is a field role, not a desk role: you will spend most days visiting stores, building relationships, improving execution, gathering frontline insights, and reporting progress. Duration and Performance Reviews The internship is designed as a 90-day / 3-month programme. Performance will be reviewed weekly so interns receive timely feedback, clear priorities, and practical support to improve throughout the programme. A formal progress assessment will take place at the end of the first 45 days. We want every intern to succeed and will provide regular guidance along the way. At the same time, consistent performance, reliability, quality of execution, and follow-through are essential to this field role. If performance at the 45-day assessment is not satisfactory, Tamara may conclude the internship at that stage rather than continue it through the full 90 days. Your Responsibilities: • Visit assigned merchant stores according to a planned route and schedule • Check that Tamara signage, standees, counter cards, and other in-store materials are visible, accurate, current, and in good condition • Fix simple execution gaps and escalate missing materials, operational blockers, or recurring issues • Brief and retrain store managers, accountants, cashiers, and sales associates on how Tamara works and how to explain it clearly to customers • Build strong working relationships with store teams so Tamara remains visible and confidently recommended between visits • Maintain an accurate directory of key store contacts, including managers, finance contacts, checkout leads, and sales-floor leads • Gather anonymised frontline insight from store employees about customer questions, objections, checkout drop-off, competitor mentions, and opportunities to improve conversion • Capture approved photos and short videos for Tamara's marketing and UGC-style content • Log every visit, including tasks completed, employees met, staff trained, issues found, insights gathered, evidence captured, and follow-up actions • Submit a weekly report summarising store coverage, improvements, risks, recurring insights, and priorities for the following week • Score stores against Tamara's evaluation framework and track progress from the current state to the target state How Success Will Be Measured • Completion of planned store visits • Quality and consistency of in-store Tamara visibility • Number of store employees trained and improvement in their Tamara knowledge • Speed and quality of issue identification, escalation, and resolution • Completeness of the store contact directory • Quality of daily visit logs and weekly reports • Usefulness of consumer and employee insights gathered • Quantity and quality of approved content capture
