Job Description: The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As an Engineer in Product Development / Optics for the Personal Safety Division at 3M Sweden, Gagnef plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. In this role, you will make an impact by: • Participating in the development of automatic welding filters for future products. • Optimizing the optical and electro-optical properties of automatic welding filters and their components through simulations and practical trials. • Monitoring advancements in LCD optics and optical interference coatings. • Contributing to initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing processes for automatic welding filters. • Developing test methods to evaluate the optical and electro-optical properties of automatic welding filters. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements: • University-level education in engineering, preferably with a focus on physics or chemistry. • In-depth knowledge of wave theory and/or optics. • Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time-efficient manner. • Ability to drive projects to completion. • Self-driven, with a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to drive improvements and change. • Ability to work effectively across cultures and in cross-functional teams. • Fluency in English. Additional knowledge that could help you succeed even further in this role include: • Previous work experience in optics, preferably LCD optics or thin-film optics. • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
