About the role

About the Team The Reliability Platform team develops the systems that empower engineering groups across all of our brands to own the reliability of their services without needing to become reliability experts. Our offerings enable engineers to define and measure service level objectives (SLOs), surface insights to expedite investigations and drive incidents from declaration through root-cause analysis (RCA) and postmortem. When problems are detected earlier, mitigated faster and followed up on rigorously, our engineers can ship rapidly with confidence and we can collectively ensure that the consumers, merchants and Dashers that depend on DoorDash have the best possible experience. Reliability Platform’s long-term vision is to operationalize a flywheel of reliability data and insights in order to continually raise the bar for our global engineering organization. About the Role As a Software Engineer on the Reliability Platform team, you’ll help design, build, and operate software and infrastructure that deliver on the team’s mission and vision described above in collaboration with expert peers across the Infrastructure and Product organizations. You will work on mission-critical back-end services and pipelines, complex orchestration workflows, self-service platform capabilities and agentic intelligence. We see and believe in the promise of agentic AI to radically reshape and supercharge how we serve our users and stakeholders while remaining pragmatic and committed to delivering positive business-value outcomes as the ultimate goal. Some examples of what the Reliability Platform team does: • Own and drive unification of incident management process and tooling globally across all DoorDash-owned brands • Create the framework that measures SLO compliance and quality across tens of thousands of endpoints and derive the programmatic insights that ensure engineering teams are informed and accountable for the quality of their products • Build the internal SRE Agent used in incidents which supports team/domain-specific knowledge bases and obviates legacy runbooks • Set up MCP for agentic use of Reliability Platform data + tools and enable other Core Infra teams to follow suit You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… • Deliver Innovative Capabilities: You don’t want to ‘turn the crank’ somewhere, but you want to contribute to strategic thinking and help us drive meaningful continuous improvement. • Be Customer Obsessed: We want to learn from our internal customers to ensure we are solving the right challenges, and also share our perspective to influence in areas of expertise • Hold a High Quality Bar: We need to lead by example in how we develop, build, test and ship our products to show that we can work at high velocity without sacrificing quality outcomes. • Automate Everything: Your first instinct is to ask how toil can be obviated or, failing that, automated away from humans. • Shape the Future of Operations: Experiment with agentic AI workflows that can propose, validate, and safely execute production changes — moving DoorDash toward proactive, self-healing systems in step with industry first movers. We’re excited about you because you have… • Platform Engineering Mindset: You think in terms of APIs, abstractions, and workflows — you enjoy building systems that other engineers depend on every day. • Proven Experience: You have 2+ years of experience in an infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering role, showing you can deliver and maintain complex systems. • Backend Development Skills: You’re fluent in Go (or a similar language) and can design and deliver mission-critical services that are scalable, resilient, performant, and efficient. • Cloud/Infra Expertise: You’re comfortable with AWS prim
