US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
About FoodLabs
FoodLabs is Europe's leading early-stage VC and venture studio, backing founders who are shaping the future of the food, health, and climate value chains. We build companies from zero, putting capital, our own team, and hands-on operating time behind a founding team before there's a product or even a name. The studio's work spans wherever a market and the data or infrastructure underneath it are broken enough to justify building the fix from scratch.
About The General Data Corporation
General Data is the infrastructure for licensing proprietary data: The platform runs the whole deal from request to delivery, with privacy checks, rights evidence and contracts built in. The vision is to become the system of record between AI and the world’s private data, the data that has never been published but that the next generation of AI depends on. On one side are enterprises, AI labs and robotics teams that need real-world data, and on the other are companies whose operations generate it. General Data is the data infrastructure for the modern economy, connecting every party so that data can be licensed safely, transparently and at scale.
Why this is a unique opportunity
AI has absorbed the public internet, and its next gains will come from private, real-world data, yet today these deals still run on email, WhatsApp and brokers, with no visibility into what was checked, who holds the rights, or whether personal data was removed. Labs are already paying for this data, and regulation like GDPR and the EU Data Act makes a trusted, verifiable layer a necessity.
General Data is VC-backed and looking for its technical co-founder. Together with Founder & CEO Louai Allani , you will own the product and architecture, shape the company’s direction as an equal partner and build the team from the ground up.
About the role
• Supplier intake: Build connectors for where companies actually keep their data: Databases, document stores, ticketing systems, machine logs, and sensor and video archives.
• Transaction layer: Own the pipeline, rights evidence, contracts, permissions, audit trail and delivery API.
• ML and data quality: Build anonymisation across text, tables, images and video, plus re-identification checks, deduplication, quality scoring and tooling that turns raw records into training-ready data.
• Delivery and compute: Decide whether data is processed in our cloud or inside the supplier’s environment. Build secure delivery, recurring updates and our GPU infrastructure.
• Technical direction: Own the architecture and roadmap. Work directly with labs, suppliers and researchers to understand what the system needs to become.
What you need to succeed
• Data infrastructure at scale: You have built pipelines for large unstructured datasets, such as video, images, sensor logs or documents, at terabyte scale or more.
• Physical-world data: You have worked with documents, logs, video or sensor streams, ideally in robotics, industrial or autonomous systems and know what embodied AI teams need from data and where it breaks.
• Sensitive data: You know how to handle personal and confidential data safely. Experience with regulated data is a plus.
• Technical leadership: You make architectural decisions, explain them clearly and raise the engineering bar as the team grows.
• Hands-on Builder: You have taken a product, platform or open-source project from 0 to 1 that others relied on, and you still write code and own the critical paths.
• Founder mindset: You care about the outcome, not the title. You form strong views, test them quickly and are comfortable owning technical, product and operational problems.
• Location: Paris preferred. English required; French is a plus.
Please note: As a co-founder, you take a real stake in what we
