- H-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Global Talent Community Applications Engineering Roles (all grades)
Would you like to h elp s hape the f uture of Semiconductor Metrology ?
At Infinitesima, we're redefining what's possible in nanoscale measurement.
Our pioneering Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) technology enables semiconductor manufacturers to see more, measure faster and unlock process insights that conventional metrology techniques simply cannot achieve.
Infinitesima is rapidly expanding across North America, Europe and Asia. From our headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, we're building the next generation of semiconductor metrology solutions alongside some of the industry's brightest minds.
As global demand for our technology continues to accelerate, we're building an ongoing pipeline of exceptional Applications Engineering talent across multiple locations worldwide.
Whether you're an ambitious graduate starting your career, an experienced applications specialist, or a recognised technical leader within semiconductor metrology, we'd love to hear from you.
Locations
We're actively building talent communities across:
• Abingdon, United Kingdom
• Hillsboro, Oregon, USA
• Santa Clara, California, USA
• Tainan, Taiwan
• Hsinchu, Taiwan
• Dongan-gu, South Korea
• Yokohama, Japan
Additional locations may be added as our global footprint grows. (We are unable to sponsor VISAs)
Why Join the Infinitesima Talent Community?
The semiconductor industry is entering a new era of complexity.
As device geometries shrink and manufacturing challenges increase, AFM is becoming an increasingly critical technology for advanced process control and characterisation.
Joining our talent community gives you the opportunity to be considered for future opportunities across:
• Graduate Applications Engineering
• Applications Engineer
• Senior Applications Engineer
You'll work alongside industry experts while helping some of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers solve their most complex measurement challenges.
What Our Applications Engineers Do
Our Applications Engineers are trusted technical experts who bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world customer challenges.
Depending on experience and career level, responsibilities may include:
• Developing innovative AFM measurement methodologies
• Supporting leading semiconductor fabs and research organisations on solving the most
• Conducting technical demonstrations and proof-of-capability projects
• Optimising recipes, workflows and measurement performance
• Analysing complex nanoscale data and communicating findings
• Solving challenging customer applications problems
• Delivering technical training and consultation
• Supporting product development through customer feedback
• Collaborating with engineering, product management and commercial teams
