US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Fluxx is looking for a highly motivated Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll own the infrastructure and pipelines behind the leading grants management software for philanthropy—the platform that connects Donors and Doers. Collaborating closely with Engineering, you’ll build, deploy, and secure our infrastructure while playing a key role in setting technical direction. You’ll lead projects across CI/CD, our delivery and orchestration platform, and monitoring and logging. You’ll also be responsible for infrastructure resilience and cloud costs as part of the team.
We are looking for people who are curious, tenacious, intellectually honest, and have a bias toward action. We welcome diverse perspectives and encourage you to apply if you think you can bring value to our team—even if your experience doesn’t perfectly match the job description.
This is a full-time, exempt, and remote position. Candidates must be located in the United States.
Who we are looking for:
• You debug systems and the processes around them. You are capable of resolving an incident and fixing the conditions that allowed it
• You work in both software engineering and operations, understanding what runs where and how to configure the infrastructure to smoothly deliver great service to our clients
• You’re pragmatic. You know the vision, and deliver in steady increments toward that vision rather than waiting for perfect
• You teach and guide teams to better practices. You understand Rome wasn’t built in a day
• You love resolving issues related to latency, scalability, and performance of core infrastructure
• The thing that really floats your boat is making systems better, not just building new stuff
• You bring a collaborative educational mindset
• You want to work with others, learn from them, and teach your experiences
• You own outcomes, not just tickets. A task is finished when the system is more reliable, not when the PR merges
• You are a curious, proactive learner who explores emerging technologies and evaluates their practical application within our infrastructure
What you’ll do:
• Automate our infrastructure and operational processes with infrastructure as code and standard tooling
• Own our CI/CD pipelines, image builds, and GitOps deployments with ArgoCD
• Keep our fleet patched and current, from OS updates to Kubernetes and managed-service upgrades
• Build monitoring and alerting that catches problems before customers do
• Partner with our security team to protect our systems and customer data, support SOC 2 compliance, and work security findings through to their remediation
• Build self-serve tools for Engineering to reduce bottlenecks and dependencies
• Work with engineering teams to make our services reliable, secure, and scalable
• Take part in our on-call rotation for production systems as needed
What you will bring to the team:
• 4+ years of professional software development and infrastructure operations experience
• Deep professional experience managing Kubernetes in production, including creating manifest templates for services, deployments, and other application components
• Significant experience writing and using Terraform code to deploy production infrastructure on AWS
• Significant experience managing the full lifecycle of AWS services such as EKS, RDS, Elasticsearch, and WAF, including version upgrades, scaling, and failover
• Familiarity with Azure and cross-cloud infrastructure
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) to streamline development workflows and use them as a force multiplier
