- H-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Get to Know Us
Horizon3 is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to the mission of enabling organizations to proactively find and fix and verify exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. Our flagship product, the NodeZeroTM platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. NodeZero has been adopted by organizations of all sizes, from small educational institutions to government agencies and Global 100 enterprises. It is used by ITOps/SecOps teams, consulting pentesters, and MSSPs and MSPs.
We are a fusion of former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators, startup engineers, and formerly frustrated cybersecurity practitioners. We're committed to helping solve our common security problems: ineffective security tools, false positives resulting in alert fatigue, blind spots, "checkbox” security culture, cybersecurity skills shortage, and the long lead time and expense of hiring outside consultants. Collectively, we are a team of learn it alls, committed to a culture of respect, collaboration, ownership, and results.
What You'll Do
The Expert Engineer on the Partner Integrations team is the technical anchor for how NodeZero connects to the security ecosystem. Our integrations with CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Splunk, ServiceNow, and dozens of other platforms are how customers turn NodeZero findings into action — they're not an afterthought, they're a core part of the product. You will set the technical direction for integration architecture, define the reliability and observability standards the team builds to, and own the most complex integration surfaces personally.
This is a hands-on staff-level role. You will write production code, produce architecture designs, mentor engineers, and be the person your team and the Engineering Manager turn to when a hard problem doesn't have an obvious answer. The team is building a portfolio of integrations on a shared framework — your job is to make that framework excellent and ensure every integration built on it is reliable enough that customers never have to think about it. This role reports to the Partner Integrations Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Integration Architecture: Design and own the technical framework that all Partner Integrations connectors are built on — authentication lifecycle, event delivery semantics, retry and idempotency patterns, schema mapping, and observability
- High-Complexity Integrations: Own direct implementation of the most technically demanding integration surfaces — platforms with complex auth flows, high-volume event schemas, or sensitive customer data handling requirements
- Reliability Standards: Set the reliability and observability bar for the team: define what a production-ready integration looks like, write the review checklist, and enforce it through code review and design review
- Partner API Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of the APIs and event models of Horizon3's most important integration partners; be the team's reference point when the documentation isn't enough
- Mentorship: Mentor P3 and P4 engineers through design review, code review, and pairing; be the person who turns a good engineer into a great integration engineer
- Incident Response: Own complex integration failures — diagnose root causes, coordinate with partner engineering teams when needed, and build the fixes that prevent recurrence
What You'll Bring
Integration Engineering
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep specialization in building production integrations, connectors, or API platforms
- Expert-level understanding of API integration patterns: OAuth 2.0
