About the role
Job Summary:
Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health’s Center for Health Communication equips public health leaders to credibly communicate health information to an increasingly skeptical and fragmented world. Our mission: to define, teach, and share best practice in health and science communication.
The Center’s Creator Program equips creators with accurate, evidence-based health information so they can show up for their audiences with clarity, credibility, and care. Nearly 1,000 creators have joined the program, which offers educational resources, events, expert connections, and a growing online community. A Creator Advisory Board helps ensure that the program remains responsive to creators’ needs and grounded in the realities of their work.
We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Creator Community and Engagement to grow, activate, and strengthen the Creator Program’s community.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager will lead the identification and recruitment of creators from a broad range of backgrounds, help existing program participants become active members of the Center’s online creator community, and build lasting relationships that make the Creator Program a trusted and valuable resource.
Drawing on a deep understanding of short-form video creators and the broader creator economy, the Senior Manager will design engagement strategies that reflect creators’ motivations, workflows, pressures, and relationships with their audiences. They will work closely with the Creator Advisory Board and Center colleagues to shape the program’s resources, virtual gatherings, annual in-person summit, and other forms of support.
The Senior Manager will also own and continually improve the program’s creator database. In partnership with the Center’s research team, they will strengthen data collection, tracking, and reporting; help automate the responsible collection of information from the community platform and relevant social media platforms; and use resulting insights to improve recruitment, engagement, retention, and long-term relationship-building.
Responsibilities include:
• Recruit creators to our community, including via ecosystem partnerships
• Develop, manage, and execute a recruitment strategy that inspires hundreds more creators to join the Creator Program.
• Identify, cultivate, and recruit creators representing a broad range of health interests, communities, platforms, audience sizes, professional backgrounds, and lived experiences.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective creators, moving them from initial outreach through enrollment and active participation.
• Develop authentic, tailored recruitment approaches for different creator communities.
• Cultivate relationships with creator networks, platforms, agencies, professional associations, and other organizations that can extend the program’s reach and relevance.
• Represent the Creator Program externally and serve as a credible ambassador for its mission and offerings.
• Identify opportunities for current participants, advisory board members, and alumni to serve as program ambassadors and referral partners.
• Activate and engage our creator community
• Lead efforts to onboard existing Creator Program participants to the Center’s new online community platform.
• Design onboarding journeys, outreach campaigns, and personalized interventions that move creators from enrollment to meaningful participation.
• Develop and manage an ongoing rhythm of community activity that gives creators compelling reasons to participate and return.
