About the role
Oracle Xstore Solution Architect
Consumer Goods, Retail and Logistics Practice
Principal / Senior Principal
You want to boost your career and collaborate with expert, talented colleagues to solve and deliver against our clients' most important challenges? We are growing and are looking for people to join our team. You'll be part of an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment of 300.000 employees. Our dynamic organization allows you to work across functional business pillars, contributing your ideas, experiences, diverse thinking, and a strong mindset. Are you ready?
About your role
We are looking for a hands-on Oracle Xstore solution architect to join the Design Pod of a global luxury retail POS transformation. A standard Oracle Xstore and SIOCS template is being rolled out to boutiques in around 36 countries (2027 to 2030), delivered through a Design Pod, a Base Template Pod and regional EU and APAC PODs, under a standard-first (90/10) principle.
You will own the end-to-end solution design for Xstore Point of Service and Xstore Office, so each market is designed on the global template with minimal, well-governed customisation, completing design for 3 to 4 work packages a year.
You are a trusted advisor to senior business and IT stakeholders, able to say no to unnecessary customisation with a clear rationale, and you document decisions so knowledge is retained when people change. You will be measured on low design-related defects, template conformance and on-time design delivery.
Responsibilities
• Fit-gap and Adopt-vs-Adapt assessments per market, with documented standard vs. custom recommendations
• Solution designs and FSDs for POS flows: sales, returns, exchanges, clienteling, payments, tax and receipts
• Country localisation: fiscalization, tax, e-invoicing, fiscal printers and Oracle country-pack usage or gaps
• Technical design inputs for customisations, extensions and integrations, traceable to requirements and tests
• Integration designs between Xstore and payments, tax, order management, CRM, ERP, e-commerce and SIOCS
• Design hand-over packs to delivery PODs that meet Definition of Ready and design-gate criteria
• Contribution to the Base Template roadmap, including upgrade planning (for example v24 to v26)
• Design reviews, quality gates and root-cause input on design defects; coaching of POD engineers
Requirements
About You:
• Have a broad business skill set including stakeholder management with senior business and IT leaders, problem-solving, and resilience
• Are able to say no to overcommitment and unnecessary customisation with a clear rationale
• Have experience building and growing the right-skilled team: one team across PODs, vendors and locations
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills in English (C2 proficiency); French is a strong advantage; willingness to travel regularly to boutiques, regional PODs and client sites. Location: France (preferred, Paris)
• Deep knowledge of Xstore Point of Service and Office: configuration, extension points, data model, Xcenter, Xadmin, EMV and offline mode
• Oracle Retail and cloud integration patterns; fiscal and tax requirements across Europe, APAC and the Americas
• 15+ years in retail technology and 8+ years designing Oracle Xstore solutions (Senior Principal: 18+ years, several global rollouts as lead architect)
• Lead or chief architect on a multi-country POS rollout, ideally 10+ countries
• Strong luxury, fashion or premium retail background: clienteling, high-touch boutique processes, multi-brand and multi-currency
• Experience governing a standard-first template and working across multiple vendors; Oracle Retail or Xstore certification is a plus
