US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Our VisionÂ
uMed seeks to be a cornerstone of the efforts to reduce the burden of disease for patients by radically reducing the barriers to knowledge creation.Â
Our CultureÂ
We are a group of trusting and inclusive individuals, who encourage, are creative and want to make a difference in the world. We do not take ourselves too seriously and we love to tell a story. We innovate, work hard and take risks but at the forefront is a joint mission to be part of groundbreaking research to ultimately advance and develop science to support those most in need.Â
What we doÂ
The process of conducting clinical research is incredibly expensive and time consuming, limiting our efforts to find answers to the worldâs most important medical challenges. uMed is a clinical research network fit for the 21st century, underpinned by cutting edge technology that connects patients, electronic health data and research groups across the world. Our rapidly growing network covers 90 GP sites in the UK representing over 2,000,000 patients with our first US healthcare system joining us this year bringing a further 5M patients. uMed was founded by an NHS doctor, supported by a world class board and backed by London and US based venture capital.Â
uMed is hiring a Site Activation Manager on a 6-month contract to set up and manage the NHS Clinical Research Facility (CRF) sites for AccessBrainHealth, our neurodegenerative disease cohort. The sites are already identified. Sites are only required to facilitate bio-sample collection and clinical assessments - uMed manages the identification and recruitment.Â
This role gets sites open and keeps them running.
Reports to: VP of Global Operations · Location: UK, remote · Start: ASAP
Key responsibilities
• Lead set-up of each NHS CRF site through to open, including Local Information Pack provision, and site specific queries.Â
• Coordinate contracts with Trust R&D offices and uMed's contracts team.
• Get each site ready to support bio-sample collections & clinical assessments: training, sample logistics and equipment.
• Manage the sites day to day once open, as the main contact for site teams.
• Facilitate SIV and uMed platform site training.
• Track visits and issues across all sites, reporting weekly and escalating risks early.
• Align site capacity with uMed's patient recruitment so referred participants are booked promptly.
4+ years of clinical research site set-up experience.
