US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

Job Description:
Transform the Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing - Intel is transforming its backend manufacturing network operations toward autonomous, lights-out manufacturing. We are building the next generation of factory automation platforms that enable intelligent, scalable, and highly efficient operations across Intel's global backend manufacturing network.
We are seeking a Senior Foundry Automation Solutions Architect to lead the architecture strategy and technology direction behind this transformation. In this highly visible role, you will define and deliver the software architectures that connect Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), equipment automation, robotics, material handling systems, edge computing, Industrial IoT, and AI-driven decision platforms into a unified factory ecosystem.
Working across engineering, factory operations, technology development, IT, and business leadership teams, you will translate strategic automation objectives into scalable, production-ready solutions that drive measurable improvements in factory performance at global scale.
Success in this role will be measured by tangible business outcomes, including reducing manual factory touchpoints to enable zero-touch operations, improving manufacturing efficiency and quality through the elimination of human-induced variability, increasing equipment utilization and throughput, reducing cycle times and operational bottlenecks, improving system availability and resilience, accelerating deployment of new automation capabilities, and establishing reusable architecture standards that can be scaled across Intel's manufacturing network.
This is a unique opportunity to define the architectural foundation for Intel's next generation of autonomous factories. The platforms, standards, and automation frameworks you create will directly influence the future of semiconductor manufacturing and help establish industry-leading operational excellence across Intel's global Assembly and Test operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define architecture strategy, standards, and reference designs for factory automation platforms.
• Lead the design of scalable, highly available, and mission-critical solutions spanning MES, AMHS, robotics, equipment automation, and Industrial IoT.
• Drive technology evaluation and pathfinding, technical assessments, and adoption of emerging technologies including AI/ML, edge computing, and intelligent automation.
• Establish interoperability frameworks, integration patterns, and communication standards across manufacturing systems.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural governance across multiple programs and factory sites.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align technology investments with business priorities and manufacturing objectives.
• Mentor engineers and architects while elevating architectural excellence across the organization.
Impact
Success in this role will be measured by:
• Accelerating Intel's journey toward autonomous and lights-out manufacturing.
• Reducing manual factory touchpoints and enabling zero-touch operations.
• Improving equipment utilization, throughput, cycle time, quality, and operational resilience.
• Accelerating deployment of new automation capabilities and technology transfers.
• Establishing scalable architecture standards and reusable platforms across Intel's manufacturing network.
• Enabling sustainable improvements in factory performance and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
We're looking for a senior technology leader who combines deep software architecture expertise with a passion for industrial automation and large-scale operational transformation.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
