About the role

Your Mission: We are looking for a Senior Mass Properties Engineer (all genders) to join our Central Engineering team and lead mass properties engineering activities for the Microliner aircraft. You will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and communicating the aircraft mass properties baseline throughout the development lifecycle. Working closely with the Overall Aircraft Design, Airframe, Systems, Propulsion, Technology, Flight Physics, and Configuration Management teams, you will guide aircraft, system, and discipline owners in establishing reliable mass data and consolidate this information into a consistent, traceable, and configuration-controlled aircraft mass properties baseline. As a senior member of Central Engineering, you will provide mass properties expertise across the organization, support technical and programme decision-making, and ensure that mass properties objectives are consistently considered throughout design, verification, certification, and production.   Your Day-to-Day: • Lead mass properties engineering for the Microliner across aircraft, system, subsystem, and lower levels, ensuring reliable, traceable, and configuration-controlled mass data throughout design maturation, verification, certification, and transition into production. • Maintain, further develop, analyse, and communicate the consolidated aircraft mass properties baseline. • Manage and continuously refine mass targets, allocations, margins, and weight-saving objectives in collaboration with aircraft, system, and discipline owners. • Guide aircraft, system, and discipline owners in estimating, substantiating, and maintaining mass properties data for their respective scope, providing methods, quality assurance, and configuration-control guidance. • Perform aircraft weight and balance analyses, including operational loading conditions, centre-of-gravity envelopes, loading scenarios, and compliance with applicable airworthiness requirements. • Evaluate mass properties across aircraft configurations, managing applicability, effectivity, and consistency within the aircraft mass model. • Assess and communicate the mass-properties impact of design changes, technical trades, system integration decisions, and configuration changes. • Define mass properties verification and weighing requirements, and coordinate with suppliers and system owners to ensure that measured data is appropriately substantiated, reconciled, and incorporated into the configuration-controlled aircraft mass properties baseline. • Further develop and continuously improve mass properties processes, methods, tools, reporting, governance, and interfaces with configuration management and the wider engineering toolchain. Your Profile: • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline. • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in aircraft mass properties engineering, preferably within the development and certification of civil aircraft under EASA CS-23 or FAA Part 23. Relevant experience from CS-25/Part 25, military or eVTOL development is also considered. • Experience with the mass properties of battery-electric aircraft, electric propulsion systems, high-voltage systems, or other electric aviation technologies is a strong plus. • Demonstrated experience managing aircraft mass properties throughout the product development lifecycle, including mass estimation, target setting, allocation, tracking, reporting, configuration control, and the incorporation of substantiated mass data into the aircraft baseline. • Strong expertise in aircraft weight and balance, centre-of-gravity envelope development, loading analysis, moments of inertia, mass margins, uncertainty management, and mass-properties substantiation.
