- H-1B has no fixed salary bar: the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and area. Cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level. US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the Role
Location: Remote (US), with travel about once a month
Role Type: Full-Time
Reporting to: Head of Higher Ed
Compensation: $110,000 to $150,000 per year
More than 50 colleges and universities offer CodePath courses for credit, taught by their own faculty or by CodePath. For a student, a seat in one of those courses means industry-vetted learning and career support built into the degree they're already earning. The courses only change outcomes if students know they exist and sign up.
That's your job. Students find us through a professor who mentions the course before registration opens, an advisor who forwards a note, a club event, or a friend who took the course last term. Most of that reach happens through people on campus, so your work is making it easy for faculty, advisors, career services, club leaders, alumni, and Tech Fellows to carry the message for us. You'll build all of it: the toolkits and campaigns they share, the campus presence, and the student community that recruits the next cohort. You'll be measured on how many students enroll and stay through add/drop, because each filled seat is one more student getting the training we exist to provide.
You'll be a dedicated partner to our Higher Education partnerships team, who own the relationships with faculty and campus leadership, and you'll own the student side of every partner campus. Some weeks that means building a one-pager a department chair can forward on Monday, tuning an email sequence on a Wednesday, and representing CodePath at a hackathon on Friday. You'll be building this function from the ground up and you need to decide in advance how we show up and what we expect back.
What you'll own
Partner activation and campaign development
• Build and run a term playbook for each for-credit partner, from awareness through add/drop
• Equip faculty, advisors, career services, and club leaders to market CodePath courses with toolkits, talking points, and assets they can forward
• Turn national for-credit applicants into enrolled students: find where they drop off and test what moves conversion
• Run virtual info sessions and campus landing pages that end with a clear path to register
• Own email and SMS to opted-in students: build the list, run the campaigns, and work with our lifecycle contractor so campus and direct touches land as one sequence
Student community building
• Design how alumni, Tech Fellows, and instructors show up on campus and engage students, and build the online side of that community (Discord and similar)
• Own relationships with student clubs, CS and AI organizations, hackathon organizers, and campus chapters of national organizations like ColorStack, NSBE, and SHPE
• Plan the event calendar a term ahead, with a clear standard for which events we do and what each should return
Measurement
• Tie every sign-up to a channel and a partner, test timing, message, and channel, and move time and budget to what works
• Use AI to run the playbook at 50+ campuses without adding
