About the role
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community You Will Join:
We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead BizTech Enablement and Innovation (BEI), BizTech's solutions partner to the rest of the company. BEI works with Finance, Legal, People, Marketing, Global Operations, Policy and Communications, Design, and other non-technical functions to understand how they work, turn their problems into working solutions, and make sure employees know about and adopt the technology BizTech provides. The team also brings what it learns back to BizTech product teams and vendors to shape their roadmaps. You will report to the Director, Tech Foundations.
The Difference You Will Make:
This is a strategic leadership role within a large business unit. For the next 18 months, the team's focus is AI. You will own the company's approach to AI adoption and impact outside of Engineering, set the vision for AI-enabled work, hold functions accountable to measurable outcomes, and serve as BizTech's primary partner to E-Team leaders on AI transformation.
More broadly, you will lead how Airbnb's non-technical functions discover, adopt, and get value from business technology. That covers quick consultations and fast-track solutions, go-to-market for new BizTech services, and building or buying new solutions where existing tools fall short. In the near term, you will define where Airbnb should be on AI-enabled work in two years, build the team and partnerships to get there, and make the trade-offs required to deliver it.
Success in this role is measured in business outcomes, not tool rollouts: functions that have redesigned their work around technology and AI, defined their own impact metrics, and can show the efficiency and quality gains, supported by a simpler tool landscape with fewer duplicate and unsupported tools.
A Typical Day:
• Help define and own the multi-year strategy for AI adoption and impact across Airbnb's non-technical functions, aligned with company and Tech priorities.
• Assess current gaps, existing capabilities, and emerging AI trends to anticipate how functions will need to work 18 to 24 months out, and translate that into a roadmap and investment.
• Simplify the tools business teams use by steering them to supported solutions and closing the gaps that lead them to find their own.
• Set organizational OKRs and success criteria for near and long-term initiatives, and hold teams and partners accountable for delivery.
• Make and communicate hard trade-offs across competing functional demands, platform constraints, and budget.
• Serve as the senior BizTech partner to leadership teams on AI transformation, including regular readouts to executives and senior Tech leadership.
• Establish the framework by which each function defines, measures, and reports the business impact of AI, and drive adoption of that framework as a standard.
• Build a metric-driven accountability culture: clear baselines, targets, and ownership for every function, with a single trusted source of truth for adoption and impact data.
• Tailor narratives for different audiences, from detailed methodology with data and engineering partners to concise decision framing for executives.
• Seek feedback from partner teams and use it to improve delivery; raise risks to leadership early.
• Listen actively and anticipate where change will meet resistance.
• Design and continuously refine the operating model that connects different technical func
