US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
About the team
Customer Education helps people and organizations build the skills and confidence to use AI effectively. We create courses, live learning, community programs and product education that help people apply OpenAI’s products to their work.
About the role
We’re looking for a User Education Lead who is excited about what AI can make possible for people at work and wants to bring more people along on that journey.
You’ll lead education for enterprise users who are getting started with AI or need help turning early experimentation into everyday use. You’ll help people discover what’s possible, build confidence through practice and develop the judgment to use AI well.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves both building and teaching. You’ll explore new products, work directly with learners, create practical education and test what helps people make progress. You’ll develop role-based learning and new approaches to teaching AI, then turn what works into frameworks and resources that can reach more people.
You’ll work closely with teams across Customer Education, Product and go-to-market to connect this foundational learning to the broader customer experience and help learners progress as their skills grow.
In this role, you will:
- Own the education roadmap for people getting started with AI at work. Identify the skills they need, where they get stuck and the opportunities to help them make meaningful progress.
- Build and deliver role-based learning. Create courses, live sessions, demonstrations and exercises grounded in the work people actually do, helping learners apply AI to useful tasks in their own roles.
- Develop and test new approaches to AI education. Experiment with how concepts are explained, how practice is structured and how learners are supported. Turn what works into frameworks and resources that others can adapt and use.
- Help people build lasting skills and confidence. Design learning that helps people move from a first useful experience to independent, repeat use, with clear paths into more advanced education.
- Stay close to the product and the learner. Explore new capabilities firsthand, listen to customers and work with Product and customer-facing teams to keep education relevant as their needs change.
- Measure and improve your work. Assess whether people are developing skills and applying what they learn, then use those insights to improve the learning experience and guide future investment.
You might thrive in this role if you:
- Have built and led education programs that help people develop practical skills and change how they work.
- Are an engaging teacher and clear writer who can make complex ideas accessible and exciting without oversimplifying them.
- Are energized by AI’s potential for workers and curious about how to help people who are uncertain, skeptical or just getting started.
- Use AI actively in your own work, test what you teach and can explain both where it helps and where human judgment matters.
- Love finding better ways to teach. You listen to learners, try new approaches, learn from the results and share what works.
- Can set a focused direction, build strong partnerships and deliver high-quality work as products and customer needs evolve.
Nice to have:
- Experience designing learning for different professional roles or functions.
- Experience creating self-serve education or resources that customers and partners can deliver themselves.
