- 3 certified filings for “Associate Scientist” (Biological Technicians) in NY: $85k–$90k, median $88k. Most were filed at wage level II (67%) — 2 lottery entries, ≈31% projected selection odds for cap-subject employers. Source: US Department of Labor LCA disclosure data (Oct 2025 – Jun 2026).
US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Build our future together:
At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry (ABMS) team in support of Regeneron R&D programs. In this role, you will work in a collaborative mass spectrometry laboratory focused on the biochemical characterization of emerging therapeutic modalities and monoclonal antibodies across all stages of development.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization while learning through hands-on project work and making a meaningful difference for patients worldwide.
When & where:
• Full-time position based at Regeneron’s Tarrytown headquarters
• Requires a minimum of four days per week onsite
Discover your role:
• Develop and optimize primarily LC-MS-based analytical methods to support diverse R&D programs, applying sound scientific judgment and demonstrating a clear understanding of the methods and experiments performed
• Analyze and interpret LC-MS data using appropriate software and bioinformatics tools to characterize the quality attributes of therapeutic proteins and emerging modalities
• Support R&D activities and regulatory submissions while expanding organizational knowledge of antibody therapeutics and other emerging modalities
• Independently perform sample preparation and LC-MS-based experiments according to SOPs, and document experiments, results, and conclusions in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) entries
• Present data at group and project meetings, and prepare technical reports, SOPs, and regulatory submission documents
• Summarize results clearly and concisely using graphs, figures, and tables to support presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and regulatory documents
• Communicate with integrity, honesty, and respect in written and verbal interactions; contribute openly to scientific discussions and raise questions or concerns when appropriate
• Take ownership of experimental work, openly discuss unexpected results, identify root causes, and make timely corrections while maintaining accurate and transparent records
• Learn new technologies and scientific concepts through active participation in projects, collaboration with colleagues, and constructive feedback, while contributing enthusiastically in a team environment
This role requires:
• BS or MS (or higher) in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, metabolism, or a related field
• 6–8+ years of industrial or academic experience in the analytical characterization of small molecules, antibodies, protein therapeutics, AAVs, metabolites, lipids, or other therapeutic modalities
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with LC-MS-based sample preparation for cells, tissues, biological matrices, and drug substances
• Strong knowledge of metabolism and hands-on experience in metabolomics or lipidomics are highly desirable; experience with metabolic flux analysis, isotope tracing, or related quantitative approaches is a plus
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation and process development is a plus
• Knowledge of and experience in AAV virology, siRNA, and structural biology are a plus
• Experience with automated liquid-handling systems (Biomek, Bravo, KingFisher, Tecan, or similar platforms) is a plus
• Experience with specialized LC-MS-based techniques, such as hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry (IMS-MS), and quantitative proteomics, is a plus
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis, including design of experiments (DoE), molecular modeling, graphing, statistical analysis, or quantitative pathway
