About the role

Payroll anomalies, errors and risks don't announce themselves. They hide in variances, edge cases and system mismatches — until they become findings. Your job is to find them first. As part of HR Controlling & Analytics at SIXT, you will monitor payroll data across markets in scope. You sit outside the Payroll team, giving you the independence to verify and escalate without being involved in running payroll itself. Much of this work is currently manual and market-specific. You will progressively automate recurring checks and standardise the control approach across markets like Germany, France and Portugal. This is a role with real ownership. You decide what gets checked, how it gets checked, and when a finding is material enough to escalate. About 75% of your time is hands-on analysis and control work — the rest is developing the governance and control frameworks that make the whole system consistent, documented and auditable. Apply now and Join TEAM ORANGE! YOURS TO OWN • You run recurring payroll checks and reconciliations, including payroll vs. HR master data, period-over-period variances, plausibility and outlier analyses • You investigate deviations, find the root cause and coordinate resolution with Payroll, HR Operations and People Systems • You decide on analysis logic and thresholds for the checks, and judge when a finding is material enough to escalate • You prepare clear check results and findings for the Head and stakeholders • You safeguard the quality of the underlying payroll and people data, and automate recurring checks to reduce manual effort • You design and introduce governance processes for payroll monitoring, define check standards and a risk-based control approach, and work with Payroll, Finance, Compliance and People Systems to anchor the controls in the processes YOUR SKILLS MATTER • Education You hold a degree in HR, business, finance, data/analytics or comparable • Experience  You bring 3–6 years of hands-on experience in payroll controlling, HR controlling, payroll audit or HR analytics — ideally with exposure to European payroll regulations • Technical skills  You have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel/BI and SQL are required; Workday and payroll system knowledge is a strong plus • Process improvement  You have experience building or improving controls and processes • Precision  You work with high precision and discretion when handling sensitive data • Languages  You are business-fluent in English WHAT WE OFFER  • The SIXT Lisbon Experience  Two of Lisbon's most exciting hubs - Factory Lisboa in Beato and ARTs Lisboa in Parque das Nações - are where you'll find your new home base.
