About the role
About the role
As SkyNRG grows, we are looking for a Process Safety Lead to build and embed our corporate Process Safety Management framework.
In this role, you will set the standards for how process safety is managed across our projects and future assets, from design and construction through commissioning and operations. Working across Engineering, Projects, Operations and HSE, you will combine technical expertise with functional leadership to strengthen process safety across the organization.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement SkyNRG’s corporate Process Safety Management (PSM) framework as part of the Integrated Management System.
• Establish and embed process safety standards and procedures across current and future projects, including construction, commissioning, start-up and operations.
• Ensure compliance with SEVESO III requirements and support the Major Accident Prevention Policy, Safety Reports, regulatory inspections and audits.
• Govern key process safety activities, including HAZOP, LOPA, QRA and Management of Change (MOC).
• Develop and monitor process safety KPIs and barrier management to strengthen risk control and performance.
• Lead process safety audits, incident learning and improvement initiatives across projects and assets.
• Build process safety capability across the organization through training, guidance and functional leadership for Engineering, Projects, Operations, Maintenance and contractors.
Your profile
As a growing company in a rapidly evolving industry, we are looking for people who embrace change and are motivated to actively contribute to building and scaling our business. You are someone who feels comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, takes ownership, and thrives when things are still developing.
You combine deep technical expertise with the ability to turn complex regulatory and risk-management requirements into practical standards. Structured and strategic in your approach, you are also willing to work hands-on to move implementation forward. You communicate clearly, make risk-based decisions, and can influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
You recognize yourself in the following:
• A master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Safety, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least five years of relevant process safety experience within oil and gas, renewable fuels, chemicals, or another major hazard environment.
• Practical knowledge of SEVESO III requirements and their application within Major Accident Hazard facilities.
• Demonstrated experience developing or implementing Process Safety Management frameworks, Integrated Management Systems, or corporate process safety standards.
• Strong technical expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, Management of Change, Mechanical Integrity, contractor management, and commissioning or start-up activities.
• Experience assessing, governing, or assuring hazard studies across projects or operational environments.
• A proven ability to design and deliver process safety training for multidisciplinary audiences.
• Strong incident investigation skills, with the ability to translate findings into organizational learning and sustainable improvements.
• The ability to influence stakeholders across Engineering, Projects, Operations, Maintenance, and site leadership.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Experience with digital risk-assessment or barrier-management tools would be an advantage. A recognized qualification such as MoSHE, NEBOSH Process Safety, or an equivalent certification is also beneficial. Direct experience engaging with regulators or contributing to SEVESO Safety Reports would make your profile particularly relevant.
