About the role

About Us Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces. Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected. About the Role As FP&A Lead, you take ownership of group FP&A at a moment of rapid growth, with a remit that spans reporting, modelling, planning, systems and a team. You build the architecture of a finance function that is still being defined, rather than inheriting one. You are the reference point for numbers and analysis for the board, investors, lenders and ExCo, turning complex multi-entity data into clear decisions. You lead the FP&A team and set its roadmap, from quick wins to long-term objectives. Responsibilities • Own group reporting to the board, investors and third parties, including the quarterly board pack and monthly investor update. • Build tailored models and figures for lenders, prospective investors and advisors. • Architect the financial model as one source with several scenarios, plus the runway and cash burn model with Treasury. • Orchestrate the end-to-end planning cycle: budget, reforecast, challenge, consolidation and the long-term business plan. • Provide management control across the group’s entities as one of the functional counterparts of regional finance managers. • Structure the finance data foundation: ERP data and processes, entity rollout, close and reporting automation, KPI framework and FP&A calendar. • Embed AI into FP&A workflows (analysis, reporting, forecasting and close automation), within the Group’s data security framework. • Model strategic scenarios such as new countries, M&A and cross-perimeter arbitrations. • Lead and develop the FP&A team, and build its roadmap in alignment with the wider finance roadmap. Candidate Requirements • 10+ years of experience in FP&A or finance leadership, including team management. • Track record of building and owning a board-grade financial model with several scenarios. • Experience running budget and reforecast cycles in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment. • Comfort with ERP-driven reporting and automation. • Hands-on use of AI in finance work (LLM-assisted analysis, modelling support, reporting automation), with the rigor to verify outputs and the ability to drive adoption across a team. • Credibility with investors and lenders, and the ability to turn numbers into a narrative for an ExCo. • Background in scale-ups or late-stage tech, or in industrial, aerospace or defense groups with contract-based economics. • Hands-on, structured and rigorous, at ease in a high-growth, ambiguous setting. • Strong quantitative or finance background (engineering school, business school or equivalent) preferred; track record weighs more than the diploma. We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI. Find more English Speaking Jobs in France on Arbeitnow
