The role: Reporting to the Head of AML Investigations, the Senior Manager will assist with the design and execution of SoFi’s transaction monitoring and wallet screening programs involving fiat currency, cryptocurrency and stablecoins. Responsibilities include establishing procedures, training materials, and furthering strategic initiatives related to digital assets as needed. Overseeing risk-related decisions to terminate customers. Additionally, this leader will oversee a team of FIU Investigators conducting independent suspicious activity investigations and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports related to both fiat and digital currencies. This requires that the Senior Manager conduct regular one-on-ones, deliver coaching, and perform holistic quality reviews of investigative work products to ensure rigorous analysis and thorough dispositions (quality control). What you’ll do: • Manage a team of FIU Investigators responsible for evaluating AML and Fraud alerts and cases involving cryptocurrency, stablecoins, and other digital assets, determining whether activity presents financial-crime risk and whether escalation or SAR filing is warranted. • Provide oversight and subject-matter expertise for complex digital-asset investigations, including on-chain transaction flows, wallet activity, self-hosted wallets, exchanges, bridges, DEXs, lending protocols, and other DeFi activity. • Conduct and oversee unsupported token reviews. • Coach and develop FIU Investigators to drive investigative quality, consistency, and productivity, while identifying training needs, performance gaps, and process-improvement opportunities. • Assist with the design and ongoing enhancement of SoFi’s digital-asset transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and wallet-screening programs, including development of investigative procedures and training. • Maintain deep knowledge of emerging AML and Fraud typologies across retail banking, brokerage, and digital assets, including scams, stolen funds, ransomware, mixers, sanctions exposure, cross-chain activity, and DeFi-related risks. • Identify emerging digital-asset risks and investigative trends and translate findings into enhancements to monitoring, controls, procedures, and investigator training. • Partner with AML, Sanctions, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering on complex investigations, emerging risks, new digital-asset capabilities, and enhancements to the financial-crimes control environment. • Provide recommendations to Senior Management and lead strategic initiatives to strengthen SoFi’s AML investigative capabilities across cryptocurrency, stablecoins, DeFi, and other emerging digital-asset products and services. What you’ll need: • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university. • 6+ years of experience in AML and Fraud Compliance Investigations, with a minimum of 2 years of direct management experience. • Minimum of 3 years in cryptocurrency-related AML transaction monitoring. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across different business line
