The Role: The Sr Manufacturing / Execution zone manufacturing engineer you will lead the development, launch, and optimization of manufacturing processes within General Assembly OR Final Assembly. You will be responsible for implementing automation, tooling, and equipment solutions that support new vehicle programs, model changes, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety, quality, and operational performance. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities): • Lead manufacturing engineering activities for assigned General Assembly/Final Assembly zones supporting new product launches, model changes, and production operations. • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, automation systems, equipment, tooling, conveyors, and workstation designs. • Manage equipment and tooling projects from concept through procurement, installation, validation, and production launch. • Serve as the primary engineering contact for assigned production areas, ensuring launch milestones, readiness targets, and program timelines are achieved. • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and suppliers to resolve manufacturing challenges and drive successful program execution. • Provide technical leadership to equipment suppliers and integrators throughout design, build, installation, and commissioning activities. • Support build events, launch activities, process validation, PFMEA development, and issue resolutions to ensure manufacturing readiness. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, material flow, and cost reduction. • International & Domestic travel - about 70-75% Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): • Bachelor’s degree with major in mechanical engineering or Equivalent Relevant Experience • Required: 10 years manufacturing/engineering, 3 years launch experience • Availability to work on weekends and Holidays as required • Ability to travel up 75% which can be extensive at times during product program launches • Deep technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines • Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Equipment. Also, the Global Launch Process and Vehicle Development Process. • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with highest level of autonomy and accountability for results • Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others • Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others • Proven desire and ability to manage/coach performance of direct reports • Ability to solve complex problems independently • Strong written and oral communication skills • Flexibility with changing work hours and environment as required to meet project timeline and support plant operating schedule • Shows initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others What Can Give You a Com
