Northrop Grumman is currently seeking either a Principal Facilities Engineer or a Senior Principal Facilities Engineer to develop site and architectural drawings for facility projects that support both sustaining infrastructure and new program facility requirements on site at our Clearfield, Utah location. In this position the Principal Facilities Engineer or Senior Principal Facilities Engineer will plan, design and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. The selected candidate will gather and review data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. The selected candidate will create architectural designs as well as coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. The selected candidate will prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. The selected candidate will review and provide estimates for design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. The selected candidate will Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Job Summary including Duties and Responsibilities: • Applying extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on drawing reviews. • Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. • Coordinate the creation of federated Revit/BIM models that include architectural, mechanical, structural and electrical discipline models. • Assist/teach coworkers in understanding Revit methods/best practices. • Create diagrams and presentations to support design decisions during reviews for upper management. • Assist the space planning department in updating Archibus space management software. • Work with production customers to understand needs and document requirements. • Provide technical support to project managers during every phase of the project. • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to capture all technical requirements for the equipment.
