Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: • Lead a multidisciplined team in the design of a hypersonic vehicle. • Plan, execute, and document structured trade studies, architecture development, and systems engineering activities (including producibility and affordability) to balance performance, cost, schedule, and risk. • Develop, review, and validate mechanical system designs, models, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs), ensuring compliance with UFC, MIL-STDs, GD&T standards, and other applicable codes and regulations. • Evaluate mechanical systems, components, and applications by reviewing designs, performing analyses, and ensuring that appropriate mechanical and thermal design standards are applied. • Develop and present design change requests and associate rationale, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain configuration control of the technical baseline. • Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities driven by design and supplier factors, and execute mitigation/capture actions to reduce technical and programmatic risk. • Collaborate with the Tactical Supplier Management Team and external suppliers, providing technical direction on mechanical scope within supplier subcontracts and statements of work. • Serve as a key technical contributor for mechanical engineering by providing expert recommendations to program management and customers on advanced mechanical concepts and approaches. • Champion continuous improvement and innovative design practices, leveraging digital engineering, MBSE, and Agile/iterative methods to enhance mechanical design quality, schedule, and affordability. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field • Minimum of 12 years of relvant expereince • Must be a US Citizen • Active Secret clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years • Experience creating and releasing mechanical product definition packages (PDPs) • Knowledge of typical aerospace manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability • Experience designing air vehicle structures • Experience developing mechanical interfaces and creating Interface Control Models (ICMs) • Proficiency with GD&T following ASME Y14.5 • Experience managing large system CAD models and mechanical interfaces • Experience assessing and managing mass properties for large systems (knowledge of AIAA S-120A preferred) • Experience performing air vehicle static s
