About the role

Job Description Location: Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site Schedule: 4x3 Rotating Schedule, 12-Hour Shifts Duration: 12-Month Temporary Assignment About the Role: The Maintenance Launch Engineer is a key member of the Plant Launch Team responsible for preparing, installing, commissioning, validating, and transitioning manufacturing equipment and maintenance systems for new or significantly modified production programs. This role represents the Maintenance organization during launch activities and ensures equipment readiness, maintenance processes, technical documentation, spare parts management, job plans, training, and operational readiness are completed in alignment with program timing, manufacturing standards, and operational objectives. The position works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Controls, Automation, Quality, Safety, Facilities, Supply Chain, IT, equipment suppliers, and OEMs to identify and resolve issues before production launch. The Maintenance Launch Engineer utilizes data analysis, structured problem-solving methodologies, and sound technical judgment to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, safety, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities: • Support the installation, commissioning, validation, and launch of new manufacturing equipment and production systems. • Participate in launch activities for new production lines, equipment, and manufacturing processes. • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues during equipment installation and startup phases. • Support equipment acceptance activities, validation testing, and production readiness reviews. • Program, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform basic modifications to PLC-controlled systems. • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Controls, Automation, and Production teams to ensure successful equipment integration and operational stability. • Develop and support maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance plans, job instructions, and equipment documentation. • Coordinate the identification and procurement of critical spare parts required for launch readiness. • Support operator and maintenance team training activities related to new equipment and processes. • Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment performance and reliability. • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to address launch-related equipment and process issues. • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements throughout the launch lifecycle. • Monitor equipment performance during startup and support continuous improvement activities to achieve production targets. Required Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Experience • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Former interns or co-op students with relevant hands-on experience will be considered. • Experience supporting manufacturing launches, equipment installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities is preferred. • Experience working in machining and assembly operations is preferred. Technical Skills • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams. • Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and monitoring. • Understanding of machining and assembly manufacturing processes. • Experience supporting equipment startup, validation, and production launches. • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies. • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment reliability and continuous improv
