Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Manager Software Engineering 3 position as the Decision Support & Analytics (DS&A) Portfolio Manager in our Roy, UT Innovation Center location. Technical leadership is a must! The candidate will report to the Director, Data Solutions & Platforms (DSP) and will execute a large, diverse portfolio of data engineering, data science, cyber engineering, and artificial intelligence products that increase speed and accuracy in decision making. What You Will Get To D o: • Oversight of system design, requirements management, verification, deployment, and sustainment of decision support systems and AI; data processing and storage; and specialized interface development and implementation supporting executive-level customers. • Day to Day program management of the DSS portfolio. • Customer relationship management to ensure products meet program needs at the correct time. The DS&A Portfolio Lead will: • Ensure DS&A products deliver and present data to system/tool end users in a useful manner that accelerate and improve accuracy in decision making. • Oversee a team of engineers developing and sustaining multiple products designed to accelerate performance of the program. • Guide the team in adherence to program systems engineering and development plans. • Execute to product development plans tracking performance metrics such as earned value, Agile execution, risk and opportunity, and product team performance. • Mentor junior engineers and project managers. • Collaborate internally with other portfolio managers and externally with peer managers across the program. • Drive excellence in engineering product design, delivery, and sustainment. • Assist teams with functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The successful candidate will: • Be responsible for monitoring and correcting portfolio programmatic activities • Serve as the primary focal point for Decision Support Systems and AI-driven tools. • Review, understand, and explain product execution metrics with DSP Leadership • Provide advice on staffing, skill set management, and operations • Interact directly with all team members, facilitate collaboration, and drive excellence in engineering and delivery • Ensure products align with DSP Strategic Objectives and advise the Director, DSP on changes to strategy. • Develop and administer budgets and performance standards for the DS&A Portfolio • Refine operating procedures for DS&A product development and sustainment in line with DSP strategy.
