Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Manager Engineering Technical Support – Level 1 to join the team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mechanical Systems and Structures (MS&S) Department working in the Precision Assembly manufacturing area. The candidate will lead a hands-on manufacturing team responsible for composite and metallic mechanical structures, mirror bonding, precision assembly and light precision fabrication. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. • Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. • Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. • Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. • Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. • Lead multiple teams of technicians to be successful in their assigned builds meeting cost and schedule Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience.  Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree • Experience using MS office tools and other software. • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and executing processes. • Ability to obtain In-Scope SCI clearance access.   • Ability to work off shifts, 2nd shift, rotating shifts, and overtime when necessary. • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications: • Degree in Engineering or related field • Experience standing up new operating processes or working through the Root cause corrective action process • Experience managing a team • Active In-Scope SCI clearance access or ability to obtain one.   • Experience working in the space or aerospace industry   Curious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector?
