About the role
Job Details: Job Description: The Senior Business Development Manager leads go-to-market and business development for Intel's silicon photonics portfolio within Integrated Photonics Solutions (IPS). Reporting to Jonathan Doylend, this role owns the path from technology to revenue: defining where IPS competes, winning the customers and partners that matter, and turning design engagements into committed business. Optical connectivity is becoming a requirement for AI and data center scaling, and the window to establish position is now. You will lead engagements with hyperscalers, cloud service providers, OEMs, ODMs, and silicon and system partners across optical compute interconnect, co-packaged optics, and optical engines. You will shape the commercial model, drive design wins, and bring a clear customer view back into the IPS roadmap. This is a senior, externally facing leadership role with direct accountability for pipeline, design wins, and revenue growth. Responsibilities Define and lead the IPS go-to-market strategy, including target segments, priority accounts, positioning, and value proposition. Build and own the business development pipeline, from first engagement through design win, contract, and volume ramp. Lead executive-level engagements with hyperscalers, cloud service providers, OEMs, ODMs, and strategic silicon and system partners. Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, including pricing, supply commitments, joint development, and partnership terms. Own revenue and design-win targets, and report pipeline, forecast, and business performance to IPS leadership. Translate customer and market requirements into product and roadmap priorities in partnership with IPS engineering and product teams. Track the competitive and standards landscape, including co-packaged optics adoption and relevant industry consortia, and adjust strategy accordingly. Represent Intel silicon photonics at customer briefings, industry events, and ecosystem forums. Partner with Intel sales, marketing, legal, finance, and DCG account teams to align account plans and close business. Successful Candidate Profile Proven record of winning and growing business for complex semiconductor, optical, or data center products. Strong technical fluency in silicon photonics, optical interconnect, or high-speed data center networking. Established relationships with hyperscale, cloud, or OEM decision-makers. Skilled negotiator with experience structuring multi-year commercial and partnership agreements. Strategic thinker who can turn market insight into a focused go-to-market plan and execute against it. Clear, confident communicator with executives, both inside Intel and with customers. Comfortable leading in an emerging market where business models and standards are still forming. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field. 12+ years of experience in the semiconductor, optical, networking, or data center industry. 8+ years in business development, strategic sales, or go-to-market leadership roles. Demonstrated track record of closing design wins or commercial agreements with major technology customers. Ability to work from Santa Clara, California or another approved Intel U.S. site, with travel as required. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree, MBA, or PhD in a relevant engineering, physical science, or business discipline. Direct experience selling or developing silicon photonics, optical transceivers, co-packaged optics, or optical engines. Existing relationships with hyperscaler or cloud infrastructure, networking, or AI system teams. Experience bringing a new technology category to market and building its commercial model. Familiarity
