The Opportunity • This is not a remote opportunity • Qualified candidates can live in the Chicagoland area or in Kansas City . • Qualified candidates preferred to live in the Chicagoland area . • Traveling up to 25 % We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to lead and continuously improve EHS programs across Abbott Toxicology's manufacturing, distribution, and office locations. This role is responsible for driving a culture of safety, environmental compliance, risk reduction, and operational excellence while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager will partner with division leadership, operations, engineering, quality, human resources, and regulatory agencies to support employee well-being and business performance. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record of improving safety performance, managing compliance programs, and leading change within complex manufacturing environments. As part of Abbott's Rapid Diagnostics Toxicology Business Unit, this leader will play a critical role in protecting employees, supporting operational excellence, and enabling the delivery of diagnostic solutions that positively impact lives worldwide. What You’ll Work On • Lead and continuously improve EHS programs across all Toxicology locations, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. • Develop and execute the division's EHS strategy to advance safety, environmental stewardship, and risk reduction. • Provide leadership and direction to site EHS teams, fostering consistency, accountability, and capability development. • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, HR, and business leaders to integrate EHS into daily operations and strategic initiatives. • Drive EHS performance through audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. • Oversee Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, compliance programs, and regulatory readiness. • Manage EHS budgets, capital projects, and investments to strengthen compliance and reduce operational risk. • Serve as the primary contact for Corporate EHS, regulatory agencies, legal, and insurance
